About the author

Jenny Dale

192 books43 followers
Prolific author of animals stories for younger children, in particular dog and cat stories. As well as a Puppy Tales and Kitten Tales series she has written the Pony Tales series of pony books.

There is some speculation that the author does not actually exist but is a psuedonym for another author or authors. One author mentioned as writing under the name of Jenny Dale is Liss Norton, who incidentally is also said to be one of the ghostwriters for the Lucy Daniels Animal Ark series.

This is the first one of the series I've read. It's a cute story that is easy to follow despite not having read any of the previous books, though there was a comment about a different dog that would most likely have been answered in one of the other books in the series. The sentence structure is appropriate to the age group as is the story line. The one character's total and irrational hate towards the children and their pet dog as well as the family's shelter is as easily resolved as she is in her anger towards the family for no reason. I would read this to students in my class and encourage them to read it on their own. Always good to have an obvious villain that can be converted, lol

It was good, i particularly liked the end but the parkers new neighbors definitely tried causin them a bunch of trouble and the end explains why but i am not quite happy with their new neighbors as first impressions really do matter and their first impression especially for the mother was quite bad.

A really cute book that little readers will enjoy. I really like how this book showcases Neil working with his dog on an agility course and being able to perform amazing things with his dog after putting in hard work -- a good role model for kids!

I thought it was a little weird that the kids called their new neighbor by her first name, instead of "Mrs. Morris" -- especially because they got really angry at her too, it seemed slightly disrespectful (but that differs with anybody's opinion).
