Karen came to romance early when, at sixteen, her Valentino-loving grandmother gave her The Sheik to read. It wasn’t until she started reading contemporaries that she couldn’t find the type of books she wanted to read. That’s when she thought she would try her hand at writing one herself. Her fourth book Jennifer’s Outlaw written for Silhouette Intimate Moments sold in 1995 and was published in April 1997.
Karen then went on to sell to Harlequin Blaze in 2001 and her first Blaze was released in January 2002. She’s written 12 books altogether.
Karen is proud of her two daughters whom she raised as a divorced mom for 15 years. One is launched into the world and the other is attending college. Although she misses the beautiful mountains of her home state of Vermont, Karen moved to Northern Virginia is 1981 and then to Raleigh, North Carolina in 2006.
Karen loves to paint in both watercolors and Chinese Brush painting as just another creative outlet.

Tre stelle tirate. Questo romanzo fa parte della nuova serie Sex & Spies proposta dall'Harlequin Mondadori. Sapevo di non potermi aspettare chissà cosa, è pur sempre un Harmony... 150 pagine, un racconto piacevole.
Callie Carpenter è un'agente dei servizi segreti conosciuta come Gina Callahan. Dopo una breve esperienza con la CIA, il suo nuovo compito è rintracciare il ricercatissimo "Fantasma", un pericoloso criminale, e per farlo si è servita del suo fidato braccio destro, Jammer.
Fisicamente perfetto, fisico prestante e atletico, torace scolpito e bicipiti da far invidia a un campione di pesi massimi, Jammer è anche un trafficante di armi ricercato dalla polizia di mezzo mondo. Dietro il suo aspetto da duro, però, si nasconde la sua seconda vita...
Nascerà una relazione intensa, basata sul sesso, su un'attrazione fisica fortissima a cui i due non riescono a mettere la parola fine. Una volta che Callie è entrata nel letto di Jammer, non riuscirà più ad uscirne. E lo stesso vale per il ragazzo. Entrambi però sanno che questa relazione non potrà avere futuro, appartengono a due mondi diversi e Callie sarà costretta a consegnarlo quanto prima alla polizia per farlo marcire in galera.
Jammer è un personaggio interessante, un uomo spietato pronto a tradire tutti, con Callie invece viene fuori la sua dolcezza. Lei è l'unica donna capace di metterlo a tacere.
Tra complotti, scambi di armi e segreti si svilupperà la loro storia d'amore. Mistero e sesso sono le due parole chiave del romanzo. Una lettura piacevole, leggera, di sicuro adatta per staccare dopo aver letto un libro impegnativo.

Gina Calahan aka Callie Carpenter is also on a mission. She has sworn to work for her government in bringing people to justice. She knows the time will come when Jammer and her will have to take separate sides, until then she’s going to stay as close to his body as possible. And she’s doing just that. If only he wasn’t who he was, it’s almost enough to want to make a good girl go bad.
This book ties up the series. Up Close and Dangerously Sexy was the first book about Callie’s identical twin, Allie. and book two, Dangerous Curves, was her brother, Max’s story. They were all page turners as these agents went deep undercover...both in the criminal world and the sheets, to protect their country.

Smut, alcohol infused fruits, violence, criminals and an oddly heart-warming ending. Then, of course a while load more smut! Yup, this book has it all and more for a romance novel. A perfect introduction to 'Blaze.', too.
Not only do you identify with the heroine, but you also feel for out hero, too. As right at the beginning - something is revealed to the reader but not to our main female character...
It flows well, with lots of love and lust right from cover to cover, I enjoyed each word and even read if outside in piblic which is very unlike me! Did a couple of chapters a day and liked the flow, range and the hanky panky! My first Blaze that I've read and picked up. I'm sure any other Blaze I may read in future has a lot to live up to.
