Bio...
Shiloh Walker has been writing since she was a kid. She fell in love with vampires with the book Bunnicula and has worked her way up to the more...ah...serious vampire stories. She loves reading and writing anything paranormal, anything fantasy, and nearly every kind of romance. Once upon a time she worked as a nurse, but now she writes full time and lives with her family in the Midwest.
Shiloh Walker has created a fun and erotic paranormal series. Her books are filled with vampires, werewolves, random paranormal adventures and as much sex as the characters can endure.
When this author was introduced to me, I opened the first book with a smile. A vampire/werewolf book surrounded by sex, what more could a girl ask for? How about … Intrigue? Consuming passion? Page turning, lip licking and arousing sexual content? The stories in the Hunters series appear to gravitate towards the erotica. How many times can he touch you there? How many different synonyms can someone use for ass and lubricant before your eyes start to sting?
Ben is a werewolf / witch, which is considered a rarity in these books. Usually, the two talents cancel each other out. *shrug* He has been searching for years for the female child that escaped the raping mad men who destroyed their village. I appreciate his character’s complexity, patience and understanding for his mate’s virginal magical state of profound ignorance. Usually, it’s the dominant alpha werewolf types that beat on their chests like cavemen ahh yayaaaahhh *Tarzan voice* hah ..
Shadoe, formally known as Jillian, lived her life without the knowledge of who she really is, where she came from, or the magical potential simmering underneath her skin. She’s more or less this oh so pure, dainty little oh woe is me female who is dragged into the world of paranormal shit by two werewolves, one of whom is this ancient vampire, who try to rape, kidnap and hold her captive as their servant.
After reading and writing the review for Declan and Tori, I compared Walker’s books to Hamilton’s.
The characters seemed similar. Anyone who adores Anita Blake. The ancient vampire pining away in lust and loneliness all along watching while others are consumed in love and a sexual frenzy with their mates.
The first book was outstanding! Unfortunately, the imaginative and dangerous adventures have drastically declined in excitement. I found this book tiresome. Please understand, this may be a personal problem. I adore Hamilton’s Anita Blake series. I had originally bonded these two authors together in hopes of an offline continuation for Blake.
If you set your standards too high, they are bound to disappoint you.
Shiloh Walker entertains you with easy on the brain, paranormal erotica that are fast and fun. If you’re looking for something more complex that is filled with twisted lusts, as with Blake, this series is not for you.
He’d rape her until she bled, beat her until she couldn’t breathe for the screams, and then he would let her die. Slowly. Bleeding from a hundred different little nicks he’d put on that ivory hide.
She’d totally fucking rue the day she had dared not to cower before him.
Oh, yes. Jillian Morgan was going to suffer.
I am a wee bit over 80% of the next book in this series; the story of *thinks* Rafe and Sheila. At this time, the book is far more intriguing. I have been quite busy today. I opened the book this morning and should finish it before I crash.
Again, I’m not knocking this author. I think it’s wonderful that she is living her dream. Her work is better than most other paranormal erotica that I have read. I just set myself up to be disappointed.
I recommend this book and this series to mature adults only. Extreme sexual content, although repetitious, it is unsuitable for children or immature adults. Moderate violence, which is a total bummer.
"The Hunters: Ben and Shadoe" by Shiloh Walker. Book 5 in The Hunters series.
I really enjoyed this book. The chemistry between Ben and Shadoe was excellent. The storyline was great! Being slightly longer than novella length, the story moved fast enough but you still get all the critical information you need to know what is going on and you get new information on characters we've been introduced to in the previous books. Really excellent action scenes in this book. And of course, as always with this series, some very steamy sex scenes.
Ben has been searching for Shadoe for almost his whole life. And now he's finally found her...in jail. Her name is now Tiffany and she has no idea who she really is. Ben knows her secret and he's determined to tell her.
Tiffany's life is not what she expected. After being in jail because of a horrible attack, she's now set free. But she doesn't feel free. She's scared and alone and strange things are happening around her. Things she can't explain...and doesn't want to. But when she meets Ben and he tells her that her name is really Shadoe, she feels like she just may find the answers to all the strange things that are happening to her.
Very well written (even with all the grammer mistakes I found, which seems an ongoing issue with all the books I've read so far). Other than that, I really enjoyed reading this one. Can't wait to start the next book.
I actually ordered this book in the hunter series so I could be caught up on all the characters story lines since I'm almost caught up on all 22 books in this series. This book is out of print and not found in ebook yet. I enjoyed the story because it gave me the back ground on lesandra becoming a vampire/witch, and this is probably the only one I've read where Malachi is involved in a threesome and boy was that worth the read. This is a smoking hot read even outside of the hunter series, plus it was great to see a bad guy slash wannabe rapist get his ass kicked. If you can acquire this book you should it's a great read.
well what can I say about this book.............. HOT HOT HOT is what I can say. The story was brutal at times but it didn't revel in the brutality and it was integral to the story. But to say this book is just hot is to sell it short, the story was damn good too and kept my interest the whole way through. If you took the sex out of the book you would still have a very strong story but who would want to take those very hot and steamy sex seance out ... not me. I will be recommending this book to anyone who will listen.
Back to the same ol'. I am starting to think the sex scenes are copied and pasted; same phrases same outcomes:( I actually skipped a lot of the sex scenes in this one, (which is a lot of the book) I was more interested in the story line, maybe if I wasn't reading them so close together I wouldn't have been so bored with it. I do like the characters and the story line, except that every virgin who finds her love ends up in a threeway - really?!?
