This is a good read, and a fascinating trip back to a largely unrenovated Sydney with a corrupt, and dangerous underworld. Cliff Hardy, in his eighth outing, looks into the death of a rich businessman's daughter who is gunned down in the street. She may have been involved in the porn scene, but then maybe she was looking in the wrong places. Who knows? Cliff gets part of the way.

Another early and good Cliff Hardy investigation. A lot of insight into Cliff as a person and PI. Also his part time girlfriend, Helen.

3.5 stars rounded up. Early Cliff Hardy. Enjoyed the action sequences but found the plot a little less interesting than usual for some reason. Part of a top tier and long-lived series.

Another great Cliff Hardy book. Always entertaining, always well written. I'm going to miss this series when I have finished reading them all!

Maybe not as good as the last few which I loved. But good. The "Shetland Island" sequence was excellent. The climax was good.

A comfortable little potboiler to lead you back into eighties Sydney.
