This is an extremely descriptive book and goes into great detail. Sometimes so much so that it takes a while to get to the point. I almost stopped reading at the beginning because of this but it intrigued me so I kept going. Half way through and I'm still not sure what the point of the story is. I am still intrigued though so will keep reading. I can't see where this might be going so I hope there is gonna be a big twist.

It did kinda finish with a twist and it definitely got more exciting in the second half. It left me with quite a few unanswered questions and I still really didn't see the ultimate point of what Stan was doing or why he was doing it. It might have been better if his reasons were money driven. I don't think I would read this book again but I did enjoy it.

This book was long to start. It was slow and it was... I don't know. But usually, when a book really does not interest me, by the 10th page, I don't continue because I really don't care. This book, I cared. It had a lot of defaults, but I liked it. I especially liked the end. I looked at the reviews before I finished it and I saw that most people did not like this book. I went through with it, and I have to say I liked it. Yes it was long, yes sometimes, I could not see the end of it, yes sometimes, the author repeated himself 50 times in different ways... but I liked the book. I liked the «morale» of the book. I liked the «spirit» and the «character» of the main actor. I recommend this book, I really do.

OMG, this is one of the most antiseptic reads ever! At first, I questioned if I really purchased a work of fiction or if this was someone's medical/psychological journal. There was no emotion just a drab description of the events the characters saw. This went on and on as new characters were introduced until finally, I gave up. It was about as exciting as reading the label of a listerine bottle and just as enjoyable. Sorry, this was just a waste of time for me.

I almost skipped this book based on the rambling, almost pointless first part of the book. I realize that it was backstory but the voice of the protagonist grated on me. I figured out what was happening well before the character but overall the rest of the story went well.

Read on kindle. i dont think its available elsewhere which is not surprising since its basically a weakly veiled religious tract. final moral: youre going to hell unless you believe in heaven. not my favorite attitude to spread so i didnt like it. also not great writing, wordy and self conscious. if it werent religious and wordy it would have been interesting though.

I liked the book! Characters were developed nicely, could not tell the good guys from the bad, you had to keep reading. Had some nice twists in it to keep you guessing. I was glad to see a sequel come out.

This books starts out slow ... very slow. After the 3rd chapter it picks up, somewhat. It has a decent story line with a decent plot, but it really needs work. Although the first three chapters are slow, I don't recommend skipping them, they are part of the backstory (unfortunately).

an absolute pile of crap, with the protagonist clearly being one of the most stupid lead characters I have ever read. A terrible religious ramble masquerading as a thriller. Thank God(....) it was free on the Kindle. Dreadful.

An interesting concept, a psychologist who can watch peoples soul's pass over.

A lot of the negative reviews focus on the religious aspect of this, but to be honest, I didn't read it that way, so enjoyed the book.
