Little Critter takes his energetic little sister to the park for an exhausting day.
In this installment, to once more prove how good of a big brother Little Critter is, he offers to take little sister to the park when Mom is too busy to do it herself. Even though she has a few problems when they get there, Little Critter is more than happy to show her the ropes.

I have always found the "Little Critter" books so appealing. This book is charming and funny as the proud older brother offers to take his little sister to the park all by himself when their mother is too busy. He quickly discovers that he is in for more than he bargained for; she has lots of fun, and he is worn out by the end of the day! The illustrations are cute, the critters' expressions are spot-on, and children always love searching for the oft-present, small, friendly spider hidden here and there on the pages. This book is a perfect read for an older sibling, but everyone can enjoy the little sister's antics. I highly recommend the entire "Little Critter" series.
This book is a good book that highlights sibling relationships. Critter is the older and Too is the younger sister and even though she annoys him sometimes, he learns that having a sister means always having a friend to play with. And also the simple words and cute pictures make it a fun book about love and family.
Read this several times as a child, it was one of many books that were at my Gramma's 2nd house. My most recent reading of it, April 11, 2024 was reading it to my 4 year old nephew. It is astonishing that this book is almost forty years old and that I have an original copy.
Cute and adorable, especially the facial expressions of the brother, which told a whole lot more to my observant Goddaughters ;). Read this about 3 times over the weekend to them haha
I have always been a huge fan of the Little Critter books. They really are such a perfect little read for kids of all ages. There is a lot to look at and well he just makes me smile.
Just Me and My Little Sister is a children’s book about a boy who took his little sister to the park because his mother was busy. He helps her play basketball by putting her on his shoulders. He showed her how to jump rope. He played hide and go seek with her. She decided to climb the jungle gym. She went on the big slide and they did a couple other playground activities. In the end, because the little sister had so much fun that the mother decided he could take her again tomorrow. I think that a theme in this book is love within siblings. He does a lot for his sister so she could have fun. He let her on his shoulders so she could reach the basketball hoop, even though it was painful for him. He got worried sick when she was lost from playing hide and go seek. He helped her down from the jungle gym and ended up getting stuck himself. He made sure she was enjoying herself even though it meant struggling and pain for him. The illustrations did a good job showing the characters emotions. In the beginning the brother was glad to take his sister to the park and the illustrator had him with a happy looking grin with his eyelids showing making it seem like it’s not problem to him. He looks as if he was struggling while he had her on his shoulders while playing basketball with a worried face as she had an excited face. In the end when his mother said he could take her again tomorrow, he did not look very excited and actually looked pretty scared.

Another easy reader. Little Critter takes his sister to the park and while she loves it, he is exhausted by the experience. My 4 yr old didn't get the humor in what was going on, but he could read it without much issue.
Out of my 10 books this was my least favorite but it completely makes sense if you have a younger sibling.Often times you do not play with them by choice but because you have too. This book is funny at certain points and entertaining but also a little bit older.
