She's fallen hook, line and sinker for a testosterone-packed hunk. He's cute, he's cool and he's been expelled from school. What more could a girl want?
There's only one minor she already has a boyfriend. She should do what's right and walk away. But will she? As if!
Helen Elizabeth Bailey (22 August 1964 – c. 11 April 2016) was a British author who wrote the Electra Brown series of books aimed at a teenage audience.
This book held me at the extremes of my emotions, I literally laughed out loud at some points to sobbing for Sorrel, Jamine, Senna, Oris and Basil when I heard about Yolanda. The fitting tribute names Electra's new sister was given leads me to believe there is a kind, generous and sensitive soul in Electra. This is a bittersweet book of hope for all the hilarious tales that will happen to Electra, Lucy and Sorrel and now Electra's sister Saffron yet there is a twinge of sadness knowing there will never be another Electra book.
In my head, this was a combination of Angus, Thongs and Full on Snogging by Louise Rennison and the Ally'sWorld series by Karen McCombie. Just plain fluffy, superficial and lighthearted British YA fun to pass the time.
This book held me at both extremes, I went from literally laughing out loud to sobbing for Sorrel, Jasmine, Senna, Oris and Basil when I heard about Yolanda, the touching fitting names of Electra's new sister and the way Frazier went to Electra held me captivated, inside of Electra somewhere is the sweetest most generous girl. It's a bittersweet book with so many things to look forward to in another one yet sorrow is there too knowing there won't be another book.
I always found it a little awkward the relationship between Electra and "FB" but its better than her being with that hunk. Anywho, this series is great for tweens; it's relatable and a page-turner
