For Business...Or Marriage?

Rate this book
She'd always been in love with her boss. Secretly. And it had almost killed Abby Morrison each time magnificent multimillionaire Cade Stone began dating another woman. And now…he wanted her to plan his wedding!

Abby knew Cade was making a mistake—marrying for business reasons a woman equally uninterested in love. For too long she'd been the mousy little secretary. But now she refused to keep quiet. So she had one month to plan Cade's wedding? That gave her one month to change his mind.

Before I wrote this review I reread the last one I wrote about her previous book I started reading at the beginning of the year. The issues I had with this one were the same. While the book hit because I wanted a romance it lacked the melodrama I want in a Harlequin (or silhouette). I thought the book would go in a different way than it did. For example with the brother who knew nothing about the marriage or business merger. He seemed not that upset. I thought he could have been more of a foil.
I didn't enjoy that we had more, not like other girls. Her blonde hair and lack of dressing up seemed to be one of the things that made her more appealing. It was exhausting. At the end of the book the woman who the hero had initially planned to marry comes to the office. It is mentioned she wears form fitting business suits and has ebony hair. The heroine has blonde hair and is wearing a blue sundress that makes her look more innocent. It gets exhausting after a while.
One other issue I had was there were weird references to race that are very much of the time. Definitely rolled my eyes when the heroine sees the hero's brother who has ebony hair and his wife who have blonde hair and she says they could be poster children for how exotic Kauai is. Feels like it's erasing a whole group of people and feels centered on the wrong ones.
I wish I remembered what I thought of the first book of hers I read when I read it several years ago.

Lumayan bagus deh kayaknya.. (soalnya udah lama banget bacanya)

Kebayang dong betapa stress-nya Abby..

Berhasilkan Abby mencuri hati Cade? Akankah Cade jatuh hati pada Abby daripada pekerjaannya? Dan akankah review yang penuh kelebayan serta kata-kata emosional-tiada-arti ini terus berlanjut?
Stopp!! http://www.smileycodes.info

"This is a great follow up story to Seducing the Enemy’s Daughter although it could be read as a stand alone. I just love Abby who finds the strength to fight for her love when she needs to." from a review posted by an eHarlequin.com memeber. read more here.

Pretty decent. Sadly, I can't remember much about it, because it wasn't completely memorable.
