A hilarious political humor gag gift for Republicans and Democrats that will have both sides of the political aisle giggling with glee. This third edition, published in early 2016, is a laugh-out-loud take on partisan stereotypes that skewers both conservatives and progressives alike. The follies and foibles that make the political world spin will trigger guffaws and giggles―no matter which party you call your own. You Know You're a REPUBLICAN If... You Know You're a DEMOCRAT If... Makes for a great political gift for men and women, your parents, or anyone who needs a good laugh!
I was laughing HYSTERICALLY! I wouldn't say this book is 100% accurate, but it was definitely a fun, lighthearted read that I finished really quickly. (Don't read it if you can't take crude humour.) I loved how the book poked fun at BOTH parties, and I wish I read it before the presidential election this year...
I loved that this book made fun of both major parties. Everyone should be able to laugh at themselves & the other guys through this humorous little book. Here are some fun examples:
You know you're a Republican if you've conveniently forgotten that the Environmental Protection Agency was created during the Nixon Administration. You know you're a Democrat if you still don't believe that the EPA was created during the Nixon Administration.
You know you're a Republican if you can't stand your gay uncle, but you invite him to your son's wedding because he's rich. You know you're a Democrat if you can't stand your rich uncle, but you invite him to your son's wedding because he's gay.
You know you're a Republican if you can't fathom that Abraham Lincoln was a Republican. You know you're a Democrat if you can't fathom that Abraham Lincoln was a Republican.
You know you're a Republican if you thought your college professors were all flaming liberals. You know you're a Democrat if you are a college professor.
It was pretty funny but I would say I identify less with many of the things than I used to, so it was a bit of a dichotomy but I shouldn't be too critical of a joke book.
