I love anything to do with World War One and have read many books on the subject, an interest first piqued back in senior school.
If you're looking for a book filled with endless details then this isn't it, but if you're looking for a lighter read, if such a thing is possible given the tragedy that was WW1, a book that gives rudimentary facts about the key events backed up by some fantastic photographs, then this is the book.
Doesn't matter how many books I read on the subject I never fail to learn something new each time and this book was no exception.
This is one of those books that’s been sitting on my bookshelf for years, a gift from someone sometime in the last fifteen years. Just read it (maybe not for the first time). At 90 pages, this is hardly a comprehensive overview of WWI, but it’s not meant to be. Good organization, the limited text was well-written, and lots of interesting pictures. A good option for middle school students or anyone who wants to know more about WWI and only has a few hours to spend on research.
