Theo Miquel doesn't have time for love — his work is his life. He dates slim, beautiful women, but once they start talking about commitment it's over!
Heather is different from this tycoon's usual frumpy, talkative and his office cleaner. Although she lacks polish, there's something feisty and passionate about her. Theo thinks she'd be perfect for an affair, at his beck and call until he gets tired of her.
Cathy Williams, born in Trinidad and Tobago, is a British author who has written romance novels for Mills & Boon since 1990. She lives in Chiswick, London, with her three daughters and continues to craft engaging, heartfelt love stories.
I don't know what happened to this one. At first it seemed promising when the hero and heroine first met and then it just jumped to 18 months later out of the blue! That threw me right out of the story. I wanted to see the hero becoming attracted to the heroine when they first met but that did not happen and then the story completely lost me and started becoming a chore to read.
Heather had a backbone for all the love she had for Theo she had more dignity to move on when her feelings were not reciprocated. This made the story even better and more enjoyable to read.
“At the Greek Tycoons Bidding” is the story of Heather and Theo.
Let’s recap the story Hero likes to date many skinny women Heroine who is chirpy and curvy, is his cleaner She faints at work, he makes her lose her job and circumstances lead to him hiring her He then parades women in and out of his house while she sits (stupidly) waiting for him to notice her Some mum drama and they end up sexing it up However he then immediately accuses her of trapping him when it was consensual She leaves and tries to date- while he does the same- but when he finds her with another man he accuses her of being promiscuous, stupid and a femme fatale There is a stupid skinny sister drama THE AUTHOR MAKES THE HEROINE LOSE WEIGHT She is so pathetic and whiny and the only friend who tries to talk some sense into her is villainized
In conclusion
The hero was a syphilitic anal sphincter and the heroine was a mud filled doormat
Unsafe 1/5

The heroine is plump to stodgy. She works as a cleaner in the hero’s building. She has two jobs - one as an assistant teacher and one as cleaner. She abandoned her dreams of being an artist to take care of her mother and support a spoilt diva sister.
She faints and hero takes her to his office and then to dinner. He has zero thoughts of any dalliance till he drops her home in a tipsy state and sees her asleep.
He leaves. A little later he offers her a job as a live in housekeeper. She adores him. Cooks and cleans and does his transcription and buys gifts for his girlfriends.
A year later his mother who has a heart condition arrives and assumes heroine is hero’s girlfriend.
The heroine is forced to move into his room. They sleep together.
Mother has her heart operation and leaves. Heroine asks hero what next. He tells her - “nothing. Let’s just keep a good thing going.”
She leaves.
He realises how much he needs her in his life. He realises he hates to see her with another man.
Her sister arrives. Troubled heroine. Hero realises he wants to protect the heroine.
He confesses his feelings. They get married. HEA.
Well written.
Heroine has a gem of a friend.
I didn’t understand why the friend did not give her the makeover earlier.
The whole pretend to be a couple was far fetched. Also the girl being a cleaner and the guy a hunk and yet attraction happens.
Still. Very well written. Good time pass.
I could read this again.
Hero is a bit of a pig.

I liked this more than I thought I would. Initially, and throughout most of the book, I wanted to smack the hero!!!
The heroine, however, made up for it in the following ways: 1) she's a size 14 (usu, the author leaves it up to us to determine what PLUS means) and has "real curves" not just buxom; 2) she's a chatty cathy (gotta love her!!), and 3) she's strong and vulnerable at the same time. Bottom line: she just seemed real to me. Her emotions, her feelings, her responses just struck a chord. She was also a teacher.
Her interactions with her sister, while foreign to my own experiences, resonated with what I have heard from friends when there is a pretty/smart thing going on with sibs. I also liked that she both acknowledged her mother's role in the whole dynamic without the needless whiny dwelling. Of course, her mother has passed away by the time the book starts, but she seems to accept her lot in life and be looking to improve rather than dwell on past regrets and hurts.
What a relief! Her sister was a real POW, btw.
Maybe I'll read it again and wonder what the heck I was thinking, but I'm gonna go with my good feelings about her. :-)
I enjoyed this book a lot. I actually didn’t want it to end, that’s how much I liked it.
I like the rich, dominant alpha male who can’t get his hands off the woman. The sexual attraction he feels for her body is absolutely there.
What I especially liked is that the h is a plus size woman. And that she doesn’t diet before she gets attention from him. He is crazy about her body as full figured as she is. And the author does mention how insecure a woman can feel when she is not thin. This book was a relief to read about a woman who doesn’t have a perfect thin body. Actually it’s a shame that she loses weight at the end of the story after they split up for a while. The author should have let her just be chubby.
Very enjoyable read. I like the sexual attraction between the h and H. Definitely 5 stars and probably even more than that. Well done, Cathy Williams.
I was disappointed that the heroine didn't stick up for herself more. She accepted being treated as a doormat from her mother when she was younger, then her sister, her friend, and then the hero. The reason the 2 stars was because finally at the end she finally stood up for herself and wouldn't let the sister who just breezed into her life take it over and she was a bigger-boned heroine and not some stick figure. I just wish the heroine had a wee bit more backbone and the hero would have woken up to how he felt sooner than the very last chapter.
CW is a hit and miss for me. This has been on my tbr for a year and I had to just get it over with. I’ve abandoned it several times in the past year cuz basically of a mother pet peeve of mine: chatty h who just won’t shut the f up.
I definitely prefer quiet demureness or cheeky sass in an h and definitely not a runny mouth. Wasn’t the right feel to read thru their HEA. Also CW Hs are somewhat beta and laid back and not as aggressive as I prefer them to be. Not the greatest I’ve read!
If there was Half a star available I would have given this book that. I liked the heroines spunk but her boss who was the hero who I wanted to like I did not care for. He was a real price of work and what kind of heroine would dump the boss's girlfriend just because he asked her to. It was very annoying and predictable as well. The mom was one of the few likeanle characters. Very glad that I did not buy it but checked it out of the library and I will not be reading any more of her books. Tried a new author and it was a miss .

it's very tiring to read the same thing again and again. i know the issue here is the girl's insecurity but having that issue and slapping me with it over and over again? naaaah. i also think it could have been better if the guy is DOING something to help her and not just SAYING something about it. admitting his love for her in the last part didn't help.
I thought it was a good read. The thing I loved about it the most was that Theo took Heather into his house thinking he felt sorry sorry for her while the truth was he wanted to bed her for his own satisfaction. I loved that about it even though one could say that was a typical Harlequins story about a foreign man ( Greek, Italian or French).
I kind of seethed the whole time reading this as the heroine was utterly pathetic and spineless, letting the hero treat her like complete trash and putting up with it because she lacks even trace amounts of dignity. No grovel either. Rage! Just rage!
I read this book because I wanted to learn about the writing style. The story was simple, but the language was good. I doubt I will ever willingly read another book of this sort but it was a good experience in differing tone and language from what I am used to.
DNF!! This book was terrible! I disliked the "hero". He was a jerk to the heroine and was always controlling her. The heroine couldn't stand up for herself and was always being bossed around by Theo and Beth. I read the comments that she FINALLY stands up for herself but it was a little too late.
