In Piglet's Night Lights, your child discovers the many sources of nighttime illumination -- a campfire, the moonlight, even a firefly -- while on a camping trip with Pooh and Piglet in the Hundred-Acre Wood. With this and other volumes in the series, new and exciting discoveries await your child at each stage of development.
Piglet's fear of the dark causes him to fret over a camping trip, but he faces his fear as his Hundred-Acre pals spend the dark night helping him learn about all the many sources of light around him. Manages to be educational and tell a story, but the words and pictures didn't quite gel, with the text describing the pictures too many times or falling behind what the pictures reveal.
(My Pooh Project: I love Winnie the Pooh, and so does my wife. Having a daughter gave us a chance to indoctrinate her into the cult by buying and reading her every Pooh book we came across. How many is that? I’m going to count them this year by reading and reviewing one every day and seeing which month I finally run out. Track my progress here: https://www.goodreads.com/review/list... )
My grandparents bought me this book and others like it as a kid and recently came across this while going through storage—naturally it needed a reread!
Pooh and camping has been a favorite of mine for a very long time. This book combines the two and helps with fear of the dark. Loved reading with my boys.
I think the title of this one is more accurately "Piglet's Night Lights" and is part of the "It's Fun to Learn" series, but anyway...
My 2 yr old daughter has a love of all things Pooh right now and this was her requested book at least 10 nap/bed times in a row. She didn't care to read anything else after, just this one. It shows Piglet and Pooh setting off for a camp out about which Piglet is anxious. There are lots of examples of things that make light in the darkness and also just a little about camping which makes it educational but also familiar.
This is a fun way to introduce different types of light sources to children. The pictures are also very vibrant and fun. Also, who doesn't love a good story that involves Pooh and all his friends? I just wish there was more Eeyore, but that is a personal preference as he is my favorite 100 Acre Woods character.
