The Pharaohs Master-Builders

For 3000 years the valley of the Nile was an immense construction site under the direction of the Pharaoh's master-builders. This book takes an in-depth look at the spiritual aspects of a unique architecture and building technique, illuminating its discussion with more than 140 illustrations. Through description of the buildings, frescos, statues, hieroglyphs, and paintings it demonstrates how a civilization and its kings developed a faith and religion that was omnipresent, and how and why Egyptian art continued to flourish for 3000 years.

Really nice photos throughout the book of sites and artifacts. Glossy pages and sturdy spine gives a quality product. The text of the book is geared toward someone with an architects interest and in my opinion not for the casual reader. I plodded through it lost amid the different dynasties and building nomenclature. For the price I purchased it,the photos alone were worth it,hence the rating.
