What’s a girl to do when a hot stranger appears in her vacation cabin? Run. Probably. Or…
I had it all planned out. A perfect getaway, in a perfect forest locale, with my perfect boyfriend. It should’ve been… perfect.
Until he breaks up with me, leaving me all alone when a stranger walks in on me post-shower, getting a too-good look at my bare backside.
I’m embarrassed and scared, but the bear spray might’ve been a bit overkill. Especially since this AirBnB mix-up is turning out to be the best thing that’s ever happened to me. Maybe.
Cole Harrington is grumpy and mysterious, grunting out one-word answers and definitely keeping secrets. But he’s also got blue eyes that don’t miss a thing, broad shoulders that carry the weight of the world, and a smile you have to work for. And he seems to hate everyone… but me. He even volunteers to be my fake boyfriend for my cousin-slash-nemesis’s wedding.
And that’s when things really go wrong. Or right?
I just have to keep reminding myself… it’s all fake and very temporary. Don’t fall for him, even if he’s infinitely more loveable than he thinks he is. Especially when he kisses me fiercely and deeply and possessively.
So, yeah... totally fake.
Until he shows up at my house. Which is a total stalkerish red flag, right? But it doesn’t feel like one. It feels like I’m… his. Probably.
Never Fall For The Fake Boyfriend is an interconnected standalone romance with a happily ever after.

What can I tell you about this book without feeling like I’ve gave away too much- Only the fact that Lauren. Landish has worked her magic in turning a slow burn into a beautifully orchestrated comedy Romance.
Typical error on the part of AirBnB, and now Janey stuck sharing it with a super sexy private investigator that’s on a job, oh did I mention the fact that he is also super grumpy man as well who turns into her date for her nemesis's wedding.
Let me just say that if you love a sweet slow burn , with bit of comedies sprinkled into the mixture then I'll highly recommend this must read riveting love story written by one of my favorite author's , Lauren Landish……..
4.25 stars. OMG so cute!! This couple was adorable. I LOVED the character growth between both of them. The family dynamic with Cole’s family and seeing their family banter and the siblings being close was so great. This is a grumpy/asshole billionaire that keeps to himself. He doesn’t let people in and is definitely on the quieter side. Then you meet the FMC and she’s a spit fire. She’s got red hair and a case of word vomit. Lol. This girl loves to talk. These two couldn’t be more opposite but when the cabin they are staying out gets double booked, they are forced to share it together for the week. He becomes her fake boyfriend so she can attend her awful cousins wedding. They have one great week together and then head home and split ways. But this hot billionaire starts stalking her when he gets home and they both can’t stay away from each other.
What a sweet, sassy and emotional page turner! Lots of laughs as well.
Janey is so intent on keeping the peace that she allows her mother and the rest of the bullies in her family to walk all over her. Even Henri, her deceitful ex-boyfriend, felt it was okay to disrespect her. If my man ever told me to shut up for a f**king minute, he would become my ex, running and ducking whatever I could find to throw. The question is, why does Janey feel she deserves that kind of behavior and even worse allow it?
Thank GOD for Cole, who showed Janey exactly how a man is supposed to treat his Queen. Unfortunately, he has some huge issues with his own family, that he just may need Janey to rescue him from!
I loved this book so hard! Cole was a mystery, even to his own family. Janey was a chatty ray of sunshine. Their meet-cute is hilarious and even before there is any coupling, you will be rooting for them as people. This story goes to show you that what people project on the outside doesn't necessarily represent what's on the inside.
I am sure we will catch Cole and Janey in future books. Never Fall for the Fake Boyfriend can be read as a standalone but a series is always more enjoyable from the beginning. This book is my favorite Harrington story so far and I look forward to diving into the rest of the siblings. I am hoping a brief character appearance may have been a peek at a future heroine given her profession...but I am probably wrong. 😂 This is a voluntary review of an advance reader copy.
Never Fall for the Fake Boyfriend Lauren Landish is book three in the Never Say Never Series. This is the story of Cole and Janey. Janey and Cole accidentally meet which leads Cole to volunteer to be her fake date to a wedding. Cole and Janey are total opposites but the sparks fly between them. Enjoyed this fun book!
Yo diría que 3,5… me gustó pero encontré qje habían demasiadas red flags encubiertas de supuesto amor. Que incomodidad la última escena! Encontrarán que eso es divertido o está bien??
I thought this was just okay. I did enjoy the characters but I felt like some of the writing was awkward, and the fact that four brothers in the same family all have names that start with C made it hard to remember who was who. I’ll read the others in the series though, especially since I started with book 3!
Cole and Janey are opposites attract gold! These two not only have amazing chemistry, they also love one another for who they truly are.
Janey is sunshiny and sees the best in everything and everyone. She comes from a family who doesn't appreciate how wonderful she is and treats her horribly. I love how she rambles! She's so sweet and kind! Cole is broody and quiet. No one really knows him, not even his family. We find out that he likes to be invisible. Janey is the first person who really sees him and the great man he hides.
I absolutely adore how these two come about. They start with a fake relationship that never really felt fake. Cole helps her to see how beautiful she is inside and out. He loves everything about her. Janey helps him to reconnect with his family and to see that he matters. They love big! Their personalities and quirks just fit together so perfectly.
This book absolutely captured my attention from the very beginning. I love a good grumpy man and sunshine girl romance! I fell in love with Janey and Cole and enjoyed seeing their characters learn and grow throughout. It was truly heartwarming, feeling the love that this family has for this amazing couple.
This series has been fantastic and I couldn’t wait for Cole’s book and I’m just as excited to read Kayla and Kyle’s stories in the future.
Another awesome addition to the Harrington sibling series. It's a grumpy/sunshine romance when Cole meets Janey in an Air Bnb mix up. Sparks immediately fly when secretive Cole first lays eyes on way too talkative Janey. They are an absolute contrast and complete opposites in every way. Yet, these differences are what makes them so special together. They bring out eachother's best qualities. I loved the meeting of the extended families on both sides. This had me entertained from the get go. I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish.
Janey boyfriend has just broken up with when she has a wedding to attend. At some kind of mix up Janey meets Cole. Janey works for hospital and He is a detective. . When he sees her he is taken back at how nice she looked. Cole volunteers. to be the fake boyfriend. It a dysfunctional. wedding and Cole has to protect her from her cousin. Cole family is a close net family but he feels let out. The story is a amazing love story and you will love it
I fell in love with this series with book 1, so I was extremely excited to receive this as an ARC. Cole is Mr. Grumpy Mysterious Man, even to his own family. Janey is put sunshine and always looking on the bright side. So when they are accidentally scheduled to stay at the same cabin, at the same time, it was like life has a way of intervening. Each battling some personal demons find a way to help each other heal from past trauma. Only to find the best fix is each other.
Ok this was a lot better than the first book (I skipped the 2nd because I knew I wasn't going to like the h). Again, the writing style I LOVED. It flows, there's a clear voice, there's a distinct relatable personality with both POV.
The sex scenes were better... still a bit abrupt and came wayyy to way too early in the book (sexual tension is a good thing that should be extended. Not cut short!), but there were no awkward fake sex scenes so I'll take it as a win.
By the end I was skimming, though. The plot e would have worked best for an extended Novela, not a full fledged novel.
Characterization was great. BOTH characters grew a LOT throughout the book. Both became better people, stronger people thanks to their relationship (which I love to see).
Villians were still very one dimensional, which makes it very difficult to believe. They were SO immature, and no one seemed realize it...I just couldn't fully believe in that whole scenario.
However, this was a cute and fun book. Much better than the first in the series. And now I'm on to the 3rd book from this author to help with my bingo card.
Loved reading the fabulously written romance story. Janey has to go to her cousin's wedding, her boyfriend lets her know he is not going and breaks up with her, Janey's heart is broken, but Cole volunteers to be her fake boyfriend. Read the highly recommended and must read riveting love story written by the fantastic author, Lauren Landish.
Lauren Landish has brought us a romance that has us laughing, crying and swooning! Cole Harrington is a quiet character that we don’t know much about. But now we know him and yum he is one of the best book boyfriends I’ve read.
Cole is a PI and is quite mysterious to his brothers and sister. Until he happens to have to share a cabin with the talkative Janey. I absolutely loved these two together. Opposites attract and all that. This was a fun, entertaining read that really made my heart swoon. I love how Janey got Cole to open up even though he’s like a locked box. Full of family shenanigans and a love that only these two can know.
Great book, I couldn't put it down. Janey been door mat for everyone including her family. I'm glad she met Cole and he made her tougher. She stood up to her overbearing mother and found a family with Cole's.. I laughed and teared some, but otherwise excellent.
I love a good fake dating trope so I was really excited for this book. I laughed so much throughout this book because of Cole, Janey, and the things they get into. Landish does such a great job of writing characters who are real, imperfect, who have great banter and very interesting adventures throughout the book.
Janey is such a sweetheart and Cole is misunderstood. I loved their individual growth, but I loved how they help each other grow and grow together. This is the third in a series - I only read book 1 before this one - and didn't feel like I missed out on too much but I was glad I read book 1 because I got good background story for Cole's family.
I was like 40% done with the book and SO MUCH great stuff had happened I was excited to read the rest of the book! Landish packs in the fun, the spice, the banter, and all the good things.
I enjoyed this book and characters so much. They are both a little broken but help each other to heal from family trauma and come out stronger. I know its a good book when I don't want it to end.
I found this book on TikTok, it sounded interesting so I decided to try it. Let me tell you I’m so glad I did, this is one of those books you fall into, you can’t put it down.
Cole and Janey’s story is quite easily favorite of the series. I had to read it all in one go because I just couldn’t stop. It was so fun, so steamy, and so much everything. These two quotes below are pretty much a fair summation :
“We're not a fairy tale story. He's a little rough, kinda stalker-y, and with some damage. I'm no prize either, with more sunshine than sense sometimes. But somehow, our weirdo flags match. And that's what matters.”
“Janey is the soulmate I never dreamed existed for a man like me. She didn't heal me, and I didn't fix her. Instead, we helped each other find the strength to do it ourselves and come together better for it.”
I adore these two. Opposites yet so similar at the core. They just fit. Both a little damaged for differing reasons from their childhood. He’s the grumpy guy that could go forever without saying a single word. She’s the one who covers any hurt with sunshine and rainbow, and word vomits the moment her mouth opens. Usually it annoys me when authors write that characteristic, as it’s so OTT. And she is. There were a few times it started to grate on me, but overall she is just so much goodness that it worked. A self proclaimed Pollyanna, it was beautiful to watch her grow and develop her own strength. And Cole… he’s the grumpy stalker-y man of my dreams. I also enjoyed watching him reflect on his own childhood and how he perceived things, and how maybe things weren’t the way he thought. It’s interesting how people can have the same experience and see it differently, like siblings raised together, and how the perspective can be totally different from sibling to sibling and even by himself reflecting back on what he thought he knew.
Anyway- loads of laughs and good times, and many more steamy hot moments, some crappy toxic family members and ex boyfriend, better moments with found family, some great friends and coworkers, and some siblings starting to open doors to a better relationship as adults. It was a great read that I enjoyed from beginning to end, and the bonus scene was brilliant.
I loved learning more about cole. The last 2 books, he's been the mysterious brother that had almost no connection to his family. I loved learning why and finding out it was a misunderstanding on both sides. Janey was so good for him, and the way he made her realize her worth is seriously swoony.
Okay, I loved Cole! I knew I was going to from the first two books, and I was very intrigued to know what he did for a living, but the PI thing wasn't the huge surprise I was thinking I would get.
Cole's personality was perfection, and he made perfect sense. His issues were well written, and this book made me like Samantha a bit less again because of how she treated him. She is very selfish and only looks at things from her point of view instead of trying to put herself in other people's shoes, which I think is one of the things that made me mad in the last book.
Janey was cute and quirky if a bit annoying sometimes, but I loved her character overall! I do wish she had had more of a confrontation with her family because they suck, but it all worked out for her in her favor and was wrapped up well in the end! I think she and Cole were perfect for each other and that their relationship shows that sometimes you do need someone who is opposite you to complement you and your personality. They were good for each other, helping each other see that they were worthy and worthwhile and that they could fix themselves on their own. I like how their different personalities were the perfect thing each of them needed in order to see the truth about themselves.
★ Grumpy/ Sunshine, fake boyfriend/ real boyfriend, dysfunctional family, stalker-ish behavior, fun witty conversations, and shenanigans that will make you smile. ⚠️ Trigger Warning: Toxic family and bullying.
Wow, this is another great book in the Never Say Never series and so far my favorite. It is funny, sweet, romantic, and emotional. Cole and Janey help each other see how truly amazing the other is. Janey is an absolute sweetheart. She is so full of life and always sees the good in everything. But words and actions can deeply hurt and affect someone, and unfortunately, those closest to her have been taking advantage of her kindness and mistreating her for years. Things begin to change when Janey unexpectedly meets a mysterious and grumpy man who likes to keep to himself named Cole Harrington. Cole is enamored with Janey. She effortlessly brings out a softer side of him. He sets out to help her in his unique way which ultimately is the beginning of his path towards his own healing and growth.
I love this series and cannot wait for the next Harrington sibling's story. For the best understanding of the characters, relationships, family dynamics, and events that take place I suggest reading this series in chronological order. This is my honest opinion, freely given.
Janey is headed to a cabin in the woods, actually it's an Airbnb, and her boyfriend Henry will be joining her shortly. Well, that's the plan. Janey's cousin/arch nemesis Paisley is getting married and Janey is expected to go. And she will, with a date. Cole is on an assignment. He is also staying in the same wooded area and, call it fate, the same exact cabin. Double booked, it seems. The two come to a truce and decide to share, at least until Henry arrives. But guess what? Henry isn't coming because he has other plans and they don't involve Janey. Janey and Cole begin sort of a friendship and maybe, become a little flirty. Now with her loser ex unavailable to be her plus one at the wedding, well, now Janey needs a date😉
A fantastic, fast paced read that will leave you wanting more! A perfect balance of romance and family, including plenty of character growth. Total opposites, Janey and Cole make a great team in and out of the bedroom🔥Cole never knew what he was missing until finding Janey, fresh out of the shower😮, in his room!!! A most definite must read!!!
And we're back with the Harringtons and all their mysterious shenanigans. Only this time, we're finally getting to know Cole. He's the one that may or may not show up to family dinners. And if he does, he may or may not sneak out early through a side door. But he's not sneaking anywhere this time.
He's on a stakeout in the woods, ready to bunker down for the night in his friend's cabin. Only his friend has also rented it out on AirBNB. SURPRISE! Only it isn't just anyone that he's forced into close proximity with. It's Janey - a curvy, curly-headed nurse that's in the area for a wedding. She has a tendency to ramble in a cute yet quirky way that, while most people she knows nod and ignore, Cole actually pays attention to.
This was a cute story. I loved how Cole was super attentive of Janey. He took care of her even when she was surrounded by the family that had shunned and neglected her for most of her life. She was perfect for him and brought him closer to his family.
This sunshine-grumpy combo is not the norm and I am here for it. Cole, one of six of the Harrington children have been the most aloof in the two previous books (read it, you’ll love it). He is a grump who sees the bad in people and keeps it to himself & make sure he keeps his loved ones at a distance as well. Janey on the other hand, a sunshine filled woman whose family loves everybody else but her. She is outcast within her first circle of people.
Their meet-cute is unconventional and a bit disturbing if you really look into it but it worked. Just different.
The two definitely have spicy moments, but Landish focused on their connections with each other, with the characters’ own self and with the ones they interact with. Love seeing Cole’s open to his family’s dysfunctional relationships and sees it in a different light. I enjoyed reading this book of Rule series. Cole 💛 Janey.
Cole Harrington is a private investigator, borrowing a cabin off his friend so that he can undertake a stakeout, he gets a shock when his friend has accidentally rented the cabin to Janey Williams! Janey is supposed to be on a romantic break with her boyfriend before attending a family wedding but Henry has pulled out, citing work issues. Making a deal with Cole to share the cabin, they both find comfort in the routine they fall into. When Cole agrees to be her date for the wedding, Janey is both relieved and horrified as she knows what her family is like. Will the close proximity help or hinder? Is the time in the cabin a dream or is it a slice of what life could be like? This was a brilliant read with characters that were perfect for each other. Cole's quiet demeanour hides a lonely person waiting for love. Janey is talkative and loud, hiding the hurt from her family behind a smile. Together they make a couple who fit perfectly together! Can't wait for the next book in the series!
