A genetics researcher discovers and exploits the fact that humans are much closer to chimpanzees than previously known. He therefore ends up targeted by religious fundamentalists and withdraws from public life. A decade later, he is tracked down by a reporter and decides to tell his story.

It was a long time since I read this, but I remember enjoying it very much and have rated it accordingly. It's in my re-read pile and I may actually pick it up one of these days and possibly adjust my rating. Or not.
