Let's be real, Valentine's Day is a hoax. A day for partners to finally buy their love ones that gift that they've been wanting all year or to finally get them flowers. Valentine's Day has never been great for me; better single.
When my lovely best friend buys a tickets to Club Monstrum for a wild night out, I couldn't resist, mainly because she bought me it. But then I meet him...
Cupid's Demon...
Club Monstrum is a 20k word novella, set in the future where monsters are allowed to roam freely. This is a why-choose novella, so the female main character won't choose between any of the three monsters. This book is a stand alone and doesn't need to be read to read the other books in the series.
i think the main character was slightly annoying and how much they talked about how special and different she was got annoying bc she didn’t even embarrass it. it also got so predictable with the crazy ex boyfriend and judgemental mom trope but other than that the romance was good and it was nice how the guys were slowly introduced. this was really fun.
What a perfect short, spicy, monster valentine book! I loved this story and all the characters. Pho hasn’t had the best relationships and she is very inexperienced. Her best friend pays for her to enjoy a monster at Club Monstrum. Pho has a better time than she though despite not going all the way. She can’t help but day dream about the monster she spent time with. Magnus is a Cupid demon that works on Valentine’s Day every year at the club. He is quite unique since just a single touch from him can have his client feeling….explosive. He is super intrigued and attracted to Pho and pursues her outside of the club. Nolan is a satyr who works at Club Monstrum and accompanies Magnus and Pho on a date. Kieran is a werewolf who has had a difficult time after turning. He just can’t seem to finish….that is until he sees Pho on a date with Magnus and Nolan. He becomes obsessed and watches her. When Pho’s ex comes back into the picture her guys step in. These three monsters take such good care of Pho and truly make her feel treasured. This book had all the things I love in a monster romance. I would highly recommend this book for someone who loves monster reverse harems that are super sweet but also down right smoke’n.
The issue with editing, tenses, even words (what is deplenish?) led to the 3 stars.
We have Pho, who gets talked into going to Club Monstrum by her friend Raven. She meets the Cupid Demon Magnus, they go out, she eventually meets the Satyr Nolan and then her stalker admirer, Kieran.
The editing, especially when it came to Kieran+Pho's scene wasn't good. I appreciated that she was both a more mature 23 year old in her thoughts and speaking but also her insecurities came out.
I did not like how she sorted out the Chad issue. She essentially had no leg to stand on and it was too soon for her to be moving in with her less than a week in old boyfriends.
Then, if everyone is leaving Club Monstrum, then who'll be working there by the end of the series? (Well, except for Stacy).
This was a good RH monster romance featuring a demon, a wolf and a satyr; very spicy, a lot of good monster tropes, chasing, prey predator, knotting. Virgin FMC.
The setting was nice but there was a little cringe moment going on with the conversations sometimes and might or might not need a small round of editing which would have made it a 4 stars.
My review for this is basically the same as the first. Spice for the sake of spice. Over all it could use a bit of editing, grammatical errors and tense issues are prevalent throughout the book. It’s a fun quick read if you are looking something heavy on spice and low on plot.
Surprisingly, I liked this book more than the first one in the series! It had more plot but was still incredibly smutty. Perfect mix, in my opinion! Primal play isn’t really my thing, but everything else was great. I would have liked to see Pho being a bit more dominant since it was hinted that one of the boys had a submissive inclination. I don’t know if it was because I received it as an ARC, but there were a few grammatical mistakes and a few of the scenes could have used another round of revisions. Overall, it was a fun time, and I enjoyed getting to know Pho and her men. We spend a lot of time getting to know Magnus, so maybe that’s why he was my favorite, but he definitely was. A sweet-talking demon? Sign me up!
I received an advanced review copy, and am leaving this honest review voluntarily.
This showed up on my TikTok. I bookmarked the video, and left it there for weeks. I found it again and I was NOT disappointed!!!! I'm not going to give spoilers but I will say that this book is packed from start to finish! It's so well written that you go from one scene to the next in intense heated anticipation. The author makes each one of the characters relatable in so many ways, especially if you are into Dom/Sub, Predator/prey, Rope Bunnies, and those types of dynamics. I personally am, and was absolutely thrilled when each dynamic came into the picture so perfectly. Honestly, this is one I could keep going back to.
One side note: I love the book wholly and completely. But the main character could've totally pulled off being a Goddess, and I'm kinda, a little, disappointed that she wasn't.
Cupids Demon is a Club Monstrum Novella. Pho is dragged to club monstrum on Valentine’s Day and had no interest in the silly holiday. With a jaded past Pho has given up on love or at least she thought she did until she meets Magnus, Nolan, and Kieran. This novella had more plot than the first one and I’m here for it! The chemistry between characters is nice and spicy! Another must read for monster lovers!
I specifically went looking for a quick, spicy little read on Valentine's day and came across this gem. This was the perfect quick spicy read. There are some triggering events, so keep that in mind. But overall, this was a fantastic little read, and the characters were great. I have to say there is more of a plot in this book than in the first Monsters of Club Monstrum book; I haven't decided if that's a good thing or not, but either way, both books were great to read.
I'm all for a good "all smut no plot" book but fucking hell, none characters in this were not even close to being likeable. The only reason I finished this was for the smut -and it might not even be considered "finished" because I just skimmed through it looking for the smutty parts.
That being said, this rating is for the smut alone.
Honestly didn't know what I was getting myself into with this book but I was presently surprised. Just enough plot to get you hooked and the spice top tier. I fell in love with each monster on their own and how they interact with the fmc. I think that if you want more spice than plot this may not be for you but if spice is your thing 10/10 would recommend.
This is a good, well written, short Monsters/Human romance. Each character has a distinct personality and is lovable. Pho’s best friend gets her a trip to a Monsters sex club for Valentine’s Day. She is recovering from a bad ex. Read how she Mets the Valentine Demon and her life changes.
Honestly I like that this one had more plot! I love how Kieran was already like a part of the other monster group! I love that they all wanted to be protective of her!! The spice is just as spicy as book 1! It started a little later but 🥵🥵🥵 and that primal scene was 🔥 definitely a quick spicy read! Spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/5
Omg I can't say how much I loved this book!!! It was amazingly written and hit everything I wanted it to!! I will definitely be on the lookout for more from this author!! If you are into monsters, this book is definitely the one for you! 5 on my spice scale. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶
What a fun quick read! This is the second book at club monstrom and I’m here for it! The characters were great. Does have triggers. The editing could be better but overall the book was great. We’re all here for the smutt and it did not disappoint 🥵🥵🤩
If you haven’t had one of Runes books where have you been boo? She’s a great writer and I tell you , you will not be disappointed. I literally have all of her books and her books are so good you just have to re-read it!
What's there not to love about this author's writing? She rights amazing series that I can never put down. Just checking this off my list of all her books that I have ready. (Just saying the spice is amazing)
I love a Club Monstrum book. The second instalment to the series is just as fun and just as spicy as the first. I loved the plot, the different monsters were fun and it’s just a great time as always.
read. This book follows Pho and 3 monsters that become part of her RH. It includes Cupid's Demons (which I need in my life wont lie....because we should all know by now I am a sucker for a tail scene), Kieran, a satyr, and Magnus, a werewolf with a nice primal kink. Each one enters into Pho's life little by little. There is some angst in this story and a bit of a DV trigger warning, but all in all it was good.
Cupid's Demon had more plot but with spice still added in. Pho was very insecure and unsure of herself, the guys were very patient. The spicy scenes were fine, but I prefer the spice of Club Monstrum. I also enjoyed the little cameo surprises! This book felt a little rushed and had quiet a lot of editing issues and incorrect words. I even saw a random letter not attached to a word in there. It is a fairly short book, longer than Club Monstrum. Overall it was cute and spicy.
