I've been looking forward to read Cassandra M's books after reading 'The Beta and I'. I read it without knowing there was a series of books prior to the generation I saw in 'The Beta and I'. I will say that when I started the book I was caught up in the story and didn't want to put the book down.
I'm really glad I got to read the story of Jake and Claire. Never thought they had a rough start. The story of the young Jake and Clair is a roller coaster and you always and up wondering how they would end up together.
It's strange how captivative the story is. I couldn't sleep well until I finish reading the whole story.

He's My Alpha is a wonderfully written werewolf shifters romance . Jake & Clair's story is so captivating with an amazing storyline , Angst, drama , love , emotions and spice. 😍🥹❤️
Jacob (Jake) Galhart is a handsome, playboy , hot- headed Alpha of the Black Shadow Pack. He never wanted a mate and avoided finding one. He has everything planned and manages his pack efficiently without a luna , until Clair returns to the pack. He finds himself drawn to her.
Clair Montrell is a strong , feisty female . She is Jake's Gamma and best friend's sister and his friend. Her father sent her away from the pack when she was 12. Clair had a crush on him from childhood.
Jake & Clair both are attracted to each other and give into their desires. She was slowly crumbling the walls Jake has built around himself but fate plays its part and Clair turns out to be the one he wanted and didn't want at the same time. (Chosen & Fated) .
Jake tries to resist and pushes Clair away due to some old beliefs of his forefathers as to protect her and his pack but he can't stay away and craves her. His uncertainties and hot & cold behaviour breaks Clair's heart but she doesn't give up on him and fights for his love.
When the secrets about Clair's true lineage reveals, it puts Clair in danger and she has to face the ' Claiming '. It is another challenge in their journey to HEA.
I love raw & intense emotions, heartfelt conversations, playful banter and tender moments between them. You can feel all of their emotions, happy and sad moments - excitement, anxiety, fear, uncertainties, vulnerabilities and determination. Everything was described so well that you feel connected to them. The Spice was spicing with hot intimate scenes between them 🔥❤️🔥 🥵
This is the first book of Author Cassandra I read and I instantly fell in Love with it ❤️💙 I am so mesmerized by the world of the Wolves she created with her own rules about Fated mates and the Claiming. The side characters are so amazing that you can't help but love them and wait for their own story and HEA.

This book started so great, and it was filled with sexual tension from the start. As much as I wanted to dislike Jake for not wanting his mate. I understood his fear, and he absolutely stole my heart with how amazing he was with Clare.
What should I say about Clare? She was absolutely sassy, strong minded and opinionated. She knew what she wanted and fought for it. I loved her chemistry with Jake, and I also loved how Jake would get jealous if she paid attention to someone else.
I was at the edge of my seat from the beginning of this book and the way it ends was absolutely shocking. (Yes, it ends on a cliffhanger, but do not worry! Part 2 is already published too, you can just continue reading it as soon as you finish this book.)

I’m thrilled to see Jake and Clair's story available on Kindle now! It's one of Cassandra M's stories that has truly captured my heart. I’ve read it multiple times and would gladly read it again.
The book is split into two parts, and as any reader can imagine, it's easy to see why. Once you reach the end of the first part, you’ll be desperate to dive into the second. It’s simply irresistible.

I read this book on the GoodNovel app and I feel in love with this book and the Author. Very well written book that captures your attention and sucks you right into the story. Couldn't stop reading until I finished it within 1 day. Amazing!

As you can probably tell from the title this is a shifter paranormal romance book.
This is the first novel of the Black Shadow Pack series and the debut of author Cassandra M.
Main leads -
You have the ML Jake who becomes the Alpha of Black Shadow Pack and like most Alpha’s he is your typical good looking, philanderer/playboy, who is dedicated to his pack but is very stoic until the main FL comes back into his life.
Then there is the feisty FL Clair who has always had a secret crush on Jake who just so happens to be one of her brothers’ best mates. She was also one of Jake’s childhood friends but after a family tragedy she moved away to live in the human world with her Uncle and Aunt.
Part one of the book sees Clair return to the Black Shadow Pack for her 18th birthday, so she can go through her first shift but is adamant that she will leave not long after it.
She gets integrated back into pack life and starts reestablishing her familial relationships with her father and brother even though she still feels like they abandoned her all those years ago. It’s clear that her family have missed her, adore her and are very protective of her. It’s lovely to see them rebuild the bonds between them.
It has also been 5 years since Jake and Clair last seen each other. Upon her return Jake is intrigued by Clair and notices that she has grown into this strong willed, vibrant young lady. They both have this sweet banter between them and the chemistry between them is off the charts. A relationship develops and blossoms between Jake and Clair.
Unfortunately, fate has plans for these two main leads so buckle up and tune into part two to see what happens.

I am so happy that Jake and Clair's story is now available on Kindle! I never get tired of reading it and I have actually read it many times! All of Cassandra M's stories are addictive, but Jake and Clair's story is the beginning of a wonderful series that has definitely stolen my heart. In the first part, Cassandra introduces us to Jake and Clair from a very young age. Their interactions are wonderful! I love little princess Clair! Fun conversations, Jake, he's perfect! Wise, a little headstrong. As a teenager, he became the Alpha of the pack and his main concern was to take care of the pack, protect it, and make it thrive. He decided that nothing would distract him from his purpose, but he didn't count on love and his destiny making him rethink all his beliefs and face his fears. Jake had past experiences that made him afraid of failing Clair and his pack. He cares about her. Clair is amazing! Brave and fierce, willing to fight for love and makes it clear to Jake what she wants. She is also the sister of Aaron, the Gamma, Jake's friend; which also makes the plot interesting because we know that sisters of best friends are off limits. In this story you feel part of the pack because you create a bond with the characters. I have felt that way because you feel the brotherhood and unconditional support they have for each other. In the second part Cassandra introduces us to Claiming (Jake must take action soon or he may lose Clair oh oh nooo) and you will have the emotions at their maximum because there are still many challenges that each one must overcome on their own. You will also learn more about Gavin, the Beta and I know you will love him! You have to be prepared because this story has love, sacrifice, loyalty, enemies, resilience, hot scenes and twists!!!! I love it and I highly recommend this amazing story!!!

No matter how many times I read about the Black Shadow Pack and its members I always feel like somehow I belong.
I absolutely adore Cassandra M's stories about fated mates. Jake and Clair's story is the 1st one in the Black Shadow Pack series. Although I have my personal favourites in Cass's World of Wolves, still Jake has a special place in my heart.
He was so young when he lost his mother and his dad left him. He had to lead the pack from a young age and he became one of the wisest and strongest of Alphas.
I loved how Cass introduced us to Jake and Clair. How powerful and sweet was their relationship at such a young age.
My heart squeezed painfully all the time Jake didn't want to do something to Clair but due to special circumstances he had to. He was also suffering and yet he remained strong.
Clair is a Montrell, she's from a family who has their own painful history. She lost her mother at a young age, and his dad sent her away. She didn't really know the answer till she finally came home. Although her original plan to leave the pack took a turn after she realized her feelings for Jake are more than just a crush.
The first half of their story is about get to know each other again, how Aaron, her brother and Jake's Gamma, missed her. How protective of her he was and how they found the right tone to each other.
I just love her family so much.
Cass has a way of introducing this world and characters. It's a pack, but still it's more than that. It's a family, a bond so tight-knipped they won let anything to happen to each other. They protect, save and love. Hard.
Part 1 ends where Clair starts to hope they might have a chance together. But you can only find the answer to that question if you read the next part.

The first half of their story is about get to know each other again, how Aaron, her brother and Jake's Gamma, missed her. How protective of her he was and how they found the right tone to each other.
I just love her family so much.
Cass has a way of introducing this world and characters. It's a pack, but still it's more than that. It's a family, a bond so tight-knipped they won let anything to happen to each other. They protect, save and love. Hard.
Part 1 ends where Clair starts to hope they might have a chance together. But you can only find the answer to that question if you read the next part.

It's strange how some books have me stuck until I finish them. And even though it's not the first time I've read Jake & Clair's story this book had me in a tight grip.
I fell once again in love with those characters and feel so much for Clair especially when she discovers that Jake is her mate, and when she tells off her brother after her heat, and after the stream, and... and I could go on forever.
Also, I wanted to say that some parts hit differently, now, after I read Nadine's story [for those who aren't familiar it's the spin-off book on the second-generation (ABC Series).]
The smut was good and hot, and the tension and banter as well. I loved it from the first to the last line even though I knew the plot.
Now I take a deep dive into part 2 for the real deal! I'm always in for a good challenge!
Cassandra, I'm really happy you finally made it to Kindle.

This book is everything you need to get started in the world of wolves. I went through so many emotions while reading this book. It’s filled with a history of werewolves in general and also the background for the characters. It had a lot of uncertainty within the ‘strong’ lead characters and this really made me connect more with the story. I truly felt like I was apart this story lol I love that Cassandra gives you a glimpse into the future of the main characters while also giving slight spoilers for other characters. The happily ever after was the icing on the cake. I don’t want to give the story away so I’m doing a very vague review…but it is definitely a MUST-read!!! I recommend anything by Cassandra M.

This was my second book I read by Cass, I found the series when I read, In the Arms of my Alpha. I am so glad I found it. Cass' books are in a world of their own. The story of Jake and Clair is so beautiful. This is such an amazing book, and start of a great series. It is written in a way that makes you feel connected to the characters and the world comes alive. I felt like I was a part of the book not reading it. I felt all of their emotions, as if they were my own. The suspense, the up and downs, the trials and tribulations. There are great friendships and family relationships as well. I highly recommend this book if you love, romance, drama, spice, suspense, and so much more.

I really love a book where you don’t expect the twist and turns. Just a few chapters in the emotions are already a roller coaster for me! I love a strong female lead and the push and pull of emotions coming out of the male lead. This book is so amazing that I honestly wanted to devour all the books from this author right away. The only downside is this book was the first of the werewolves books I’ve read and this spoiled me as I would compare all werewolves books from now on to Cassandra M’s 🥺

If you're a werewolf lover, I highly recommend this book and this series!
This book is my first introduction to the author's world. I read it in a reading app and spent the whole night devouring the story of Jake and Clair. When she released a paperback, I bought it, and now the Kindle version too! I read this book many times, and each time, I fell in love with these two and the whole Black Shadow Pack. Amazing love story. I love how each character in the book is not perfect and very humane. You can relate to each of them and feel their pain. Emotions so true to each character. Thank you this beautiful book Cass!

This is the first book of the Black Shadow Pack series.
You have the ML Jake who becomes the Alpha of Black Shadow Pack and like most Alpha’s he is your typical good looking, philanderer/playboy, who is dedicated to his pack but is very stoic until the main FL comes back into his life.
Then there is the feisty FL Clair who has always had a secret crush on Jake who just so happens to be one of her brothers’ best mates. She was also one of Jake’s childhood friends but after a family tragedy she moved away to live in the human world with her Uncle and Aunt.
Clair returns to the Black Shadow Pack for her 18th birthday, so she can go through her first shift but is adamant that she will leave not long after it.
She gets integrated back into pack life and starts re-establishing her familial relationships and with her father and brother even though she still feels like they abandoned her all those years ago. It’s clear that her family have missed her, adore her and are very protective of her. It’s lovely to see them rebuild the bonds between them.
It has also been 5 years since Jake and Clair last seen each other. Upon her return Jake is intrigued by Clair and notices that she has grown into this strong willed, vibrant young lady. They both have this sweet banter between them and the chemistry between them is off the charts. A relationship develops and blossoms between Jake and Clair but then fate intervenes.
As the story progresses Clair learns more about her families past and how it will affect her future.
While coming to terms with the past she continues to have hope and faith that she will get her man – Jake.
Then you have Jake who is trying to comprehend his emotions and who is still hesitant to claim Clair.
Unfortunately for him time is of the essence as an old tradition called the “Claiming” is approaching.
This tradition is where an Alpha claims his Luna. If no one claims the Lady in question that has caught the Alphas eye, then he can claim her as his mate. If someone else shows interest, then they must fight for the right to claim their future Luna. A twist on the way other werewolf stories claim their “Mate”.

Jake would let her join in when he and the other boys were playing, despite the protests of the others. Sweet, ain’t it?
Even at a young age Jake already knew that he didn’t want a Luna and mate and mentioned this to Claire, which made her sad. She even asked him, what if she was his Luna?
Fast forward to the present. Jacob Galhart is the Alpha of the Black Shadow pack and he does not want to have a mate. Claire Montrell is the sister of the Black Shadow pack’s Gamma, Aaron.

This book was a GREAT read. It was steamy, angsty, full or emotions and spice! The first 100 pages was GOLD and truly hooked me into the story. Once the hook was set, I couldn't stop reading this book.
You have the two main characters who grew up together and you get to see the cute and funny early interactions then things happen and they are separated until they are adults. What goes does at the separation causes tension and sets the stage for the enemies to lovers vibes. You get the tension, bickering, and steam that really pushes the story forward. I was totally grinning through out this book! There were times I wish the two characters wouldn't push against each other so hard but I also understand that it really played into the delicious tension.
Besides the great characters and interactions between them...there are secondary characters that also really shine. You also get to see the inner working of a pack through the Beta and Gamma (and let me say, I can't wait for their stories!).
The plot is packed full of action that really drives the story! So good.

This is the first of Cassandra’s books that I read and I absolutely loved it. I have read all her books since and love that she updates almost daily if she schedule allows and keeps us in the loop. All of her books are in the same “universe” and each book just adds more characters and layers to ones you already know. I love this kind of series/writing. Jake and Clair’s story will already be my favorite as it’s what got me in to the rest of the books. The way the author writes, you feel like you are a part of the story and what is happening.

As I read into the night I just could not put it down. Since I started reading this author’s write she has countless times captured my attention with her writing style, imagination. She brings her characters to life with the turns and twist with the story, flirting, banter between characters for funny moments, drama within the book will make you laugh, cry, gasp oh no’s, and smile. That is truly a work of art this writer has.

I enjoyed reading this book. The introduction of the characters was entertaining. I laughed, cried, got frustrated with Clair and Jake, and of course, fell in love with them. The side characters were also memorable. The author's epilogue was heartwarming and definitely made me want to read the rest of the series.

This is the first book to an amazing series. I love their story and their fight for each other. I laughed, cried and wanting to throw my Kindle at times. Lol. There are twists and this book keeps you at edge of your seat wanting more. It was hard for me to put it down. Read it!! And enter into the series that will just suck you in.

Grew up in the same pack, but couldn't be more different. Talk about not always getting what you want, and not always knowing what you truly need. The Goddess matches mates together for a reason but with a stubborn alpha, and an even more stubborn luna, getting them together will not be an easy feat. Definitely worth the read. Great author!
