This was also one of my grandparents books. I really enjoyed this book. There are Spanish words throughout and I was thankful for the glossary in the back that had the English translation. My eyes are open to the way the women and poor folk were treated before there was a government in this area. I am native to New Mexico so I was really intrigued by the book and couldn't put it down.

I LOVE this book. Perhaps just for the romantic component of a quiet history that rages loudly.

Being a native New Mexican, I found the novel extraordinarily exciting with rich colorful descriptions of the northern part of the state.

Great historical fiction takes place during New Mexico's Pueblo Indian Revolt in 1680!
HIghly recommended.
