The melancholy of a world about to disappear in the fog of legend!

And the world of Joseph Roth has disappeared so many times, hit by the chaotic power of mythic Leviathan in the depth of the sea in all the possible incarnations of that monster.

Who can read about a coral merchant discovering modernity in Odessa, who decides to emigrate and start a new life - only to sink to the bottom of the sea on a transatlantic ship - without a shiver of pain? Why is it still so hard to be human in these parts of the world? In all parts of the world?

Who can blame the storytellers for trying to shape a mythological kind of nonsense out of the stuff that reality is made of, as a form of escaping the dangerous nonsense of power?

Timeless and brilliant!

Joseph Roth'un toplu öyküleri, "Kör Ayna" adı altında kitaplaştırılmış. Aziz Ayyaşın Efsanesi, Kayser'in Büstü, İstasyon Şefi Fallmerayer, Güzelliğin Zaferi en beğendiğim öyküler oldu. Otobiyografik öğeler içeren Aziz Ayyaş'ın Efsanesi, gerçekten muhteşem bir uzun öykü.

Zbiór wszystkich opowiadań Rotha, ułożony chronologicznie wg prawdopodobnego czasu ich powstania. Są to historyjki opowiadane bogatym, ironicznym czasem językiem. Widać w nich wielką wrażliwość na krzywdę człowieka, nawet gdy autor opowiada właśnie z perspektywy ludzi złych i nieczułych: facetów bez sumienia, niewdzięcznych dzieci czy życiowych spryciarzy.
