Upon finishing the book, I was a bit disappointed and was left with a feeling of, “Is that it?” I think I was expecting something more.
It was interesting that I got an exactly identical total score for Warm-Up and Practice, and scored highest for Challenge. This doesn't make much sense because I did the exercises by simply starting from the beginning of the book and sequentially doing the exercises until the end and Challenge is supposed to be most difficult.
Exercises having to do with verbal ability seem to have been the most point-draining exercises for me, possibly confirming my weakness in verbal skills. I thought some of those verbal exercises were really unfair for someone like me (I scored like 0 out of 3 on several of those), like filling in letters for a quote using a system of codes as hints; filling in missing words or phrases for famous proverbs; and so on, because those are knowledge that I as a non-native speaker of English would have a disadvantage on. If I take into account my worst performances in those verbal exercises, then my scores for all three difficulty levels would be higher.
I really like the intentions of the authors for creating this book, as explained in the Foreword and Introduction, but I was hoping that the method of evaluation was better. After all, there seems to be no way of assessing that my brain has become fitter and healthier after finishing the book compared to before I started it.

I really enjoyed doing these mental exercises and seeing what I still had in me. Sometimes I was actually pleasantly surprised at my score. I give myself a B...maybe even a B+ for finishing the whole book of mental exercises. I would have given the book 5 stars if I felt I was actually thinking more clearly because of the exercises but mostly I ended up with a headache. :)
