Fueling my coconut obsession... :)
Depending on what you want to do with this book, you don't need to read it cover to cover. There are sections on different coconut products and what they are good for--coconut oil, coconut water, coconut flour, shredded coconut, etc. There´s also a section on heart health, and a few recipes and suggestions. I tried the recipe for coconut cottage cheese and it tasted amazing (but I didn't need to be purged of parasites as far as I know). I have my own coconut testimonials, so for me, this book is preaching to the choir. If you are unfamiliar with coconut products and their healing qualities, then this is a great place to start. I have cured a urinary tract infection with coconut water, cured my husband´s nasty, peely athlete´s food with coconut oil, and am now treating a patch of mange on my mother-in-law's dog with coconut oil. The possibilities are endless and this book is a great addition to your home health library.

I didn't give this 5 stars because I was hoping that the science behind some concepts in the book could be explained better. I love Dr. Fife's work, his webpage, his wife's facebook page, etc., but he is not always the best writer in terms of the flow of his books. They are mostly meant to be informative manuals anyway, so reading them in chunks is probably ok.

I’m truly wanting real, live food to be the answer to so many of societies ills therefore I also admit that I tend to believe rather than disbelieve the things I read. How naive of me! But, so as not to be seen as totally gullible, I’m doing my own experiments. Coconut oil is the main oil I cook with, I add it to my green tea sometimes, I use coconut oil on my face as a moisturizer (and I will say here that my face is way happy to have it!), I put it in my hair overnight once in a while to deep condition it, and I’ve been putting it on two small scars that I recently acquired to see if they fade beautifully. Like I said, I want it to be true – that something unadulterated and created by God still has long-term and lasting value in our crazy, over-processed, anything-but-natural lives.
True incident – last night a friend drops in for a visit. I’m already in my pj’s with coconut oil on my face, in my hair and I’m drinking Hot Cocoa made with Coconut Milk! Cuckoo for Coconut!!

There are so many good things to say about this book - I cannot begin to list all the benefits of using coconut. I use coconut oil daily on my hair to speed up my metabolism and I use coconut milk on my cereal every morning - which assists in health bowel movements. There are numerous other benefits to coconut. When I work really hard out in the yard during the day, and I am practically exhausted, I'll come in - crack open a can of young organic coconut water - guzzle it down and feel like a kid again with tons of energy! My brother had pain - like the beginning signs of a kidney stone - I asked him to drink organic young coconut water - and the kidney stone dissolved completely - and he passed it naturally. No problems - no surgery - just coconut - that's it!

Awesome book to learn about the many benefits of Coconut. From hair, skin, & outer body health; to internal health such as benefits for dropping down cholesterol levels, high blood pressure, sugar levels, & other stuff. Also it talks about differences and benefits of coconut oil, coconut water.Other ways that coconut's can be used for such as for sun tanning, sun block, etc.... good intro if anyone is interested in learning about coconuts, as more research is done im sure newer revisions, books will come about

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Very informative. I have been cooking with coconut oil for many years, and using it for various other things. Wouldn't be with out it. Now I have more things to try and suggest to others.

I found the whole thing pretty interesting. Coconut oil is great for cooking... It makes better coconut rice rather than using coconut milk. Its great for frying and also tastes pretty darn good by itself. It was a great after shower lotion, but sadly it didnt do much for my stretch marks during pregnancy :(

Nice little book, lots of info I didn't know. Of course, almost all the evidence is anecdotal, and therefore, dubious. I continue to use coconut oil based on the clinical evidence that seems to indicate that as a Medium Chain Fat, it may be better for you than Long Chain Fats.
