Enid Mary Blyton (1897–1968) was an English author of children's books.
Born in South London, Blyton was the eldest of three children, and showed an early interest in music and reading. She was educated at St. Christopher's School, Beckenham, and - having decided not to pursue her music - at Ipswich High School, where she trained as a kindergarten teacher. She taught for five years before her 1924 marriage to editor Hugh Pollock, with whom she had two daughters. This marriage ended in divorce, and Blyton remarried in 1943, to surgeon Kenneth Fraser Darrell Waters. She died in 1968, one year after her second husband.
Blyton was a prolific author of children's books, who penned an estimated 800 books over about 40 years. Her stories were often either children's adventure and mystery stories, or fantasies involving magic. Notable series include: The Famous Five, The Secret Seven, The Five Find-Outers, Noddy, The Wishing Chair, Mallory Towers, and St. Clare's.
According to the Index Translationum, Blyton was the fifth most popular author in the world in 2007, coming after Lenin but ahead of Shakespeare.
If you have read Blyton and her mischievously amazing characters, YOUR CHILDHOOD WAS WELL SPENT! i cant stress enough on how much every parent needs to give these to their children because these books are what initially opened the eyes of my imagination to worlds unseen.
An entire mass of intrest burst from my brain when I read this book. Full of surprises. I mostly enjoyed when the school would have a meeting. Just like the children in the story, at meetings they would get quiet, I would to. Awesome book, read it if you liked the first book: The Nautiest Girl in the School. If you think it's one book and you'll be done with it soon you're wrong, it's three books in one!
Overall good but having a bully get off scot-free was insane.
As was Elizabeth being made a monitor due to being nice when in pain. Then being made once again for doing a good deed.
She shows throughout the book that she is quick to anger, absolutely despises people she is angry with and refuses to give them the benefit of the doubt - not uncommon attributes of a child but it certainly doesn’t fit the narrative where all monitors are chosen for their wisdom, kindness and ability to be level-headed in precarious situations.
I had written more but the app randomly closed midway and didn’t want to risk doing so again.

My most favourite books when I was a little girl. I so wanted to go to boarding school. I really enjoyed reading them to my daughter when she was younger.
