This book gets one million stars for usability. Every recipe has a 10-minute, 20-minute, and 30-minute variation. That's really a game-changer for those days when I come home and I am unconscionably lazy. But perhaps the most fantastic part (of this entire Quick Cook series!) is that there is a code at the bottom of each page that you enter into their website and they email you the recipe. This seriously cuts down on the amount of time I spend typing out recipes and I can return it to the library toot sweet.
The recipes themselves are alright. Many aren't too easily vegan-able due to a super heavy reliance on cheese and eggs as the center of a dish instead of veggies veggies veggies yum. But I'm used to that. Mostly I'm getting ideas about differnt kinds of things I can make with a particular ingredient combination, particularly recipes that are fast, simple, and fresh.
There is no shortage of recipe inspiration here! 'Quick Cook Vegetarian' offers tempting snacks, soups, salads, main meals and desserts, all arranged by cooking times of ten, twenty and thirty minutes. Yeah right! However most items in this book require a concerted effort to re-stock my kitchen cupboard with a wide selection of ingredients before getting stuck in. The desserts look particularly yummy!
This is a great book with many, many recipes that take from 10 to 30 minutes to make. The book is done well and organized well to find just the right recipe for the right occasion.
Excellent recipes of the simple, quick cook kind. I shall definitely use a good many of them. Even if you aren't a vegetarian you'll find interesting dishes prepared in 10 minutes a good thing.
