I didn't really learn anything new in this book that I didn't already know. I would not have picked it up if it had not been for a class I was taking assigned it. It would be a good read for some one in their first five years of teaching or so, or for someone who is teaching and unfamiliar with how differentiation works. I already use it in my classroom and was hoping for new ideas, but was sadly disappointed.
There's such a sense of accomplishment when you end up reading an entire textbook, even if it is a shorter one. I usually take the bits useful to me and disregard the rest. I found this book pretty approachable and while it discussed the purpose behind differentiating more than the applicable strategies to do so, it was still useful. I appreciate the examples and the toolbox.
