Connie Hillman must come to grips with what happened in the remote Huron Mountains, where she survived an encounter with ghosts, giants and cannibalistic Weendigo. Connie reflects on horrific events in the ancient and remote Huron Mountains, located in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Her former lover (and PhD advisor) Phil Waverly stumbles upon an ancient ceremonial site, which he believes will prove his theory of a Pre-Columbian Bronze Age civilization in the Great Lakes region. Can Connie stop Phil from opening a portal between worlds? This volume also includes The Buck of Mulligan Plains. Henry Kincaid is hunting the biggest buck he has ever seen. A renowned outdoorsman, Henry always sought to be at one with the northern wilderness. Yet he never dreamed of attaining his goal in quite this manner. Meanwhile his lover, Lilith Gordon, fears she will lose him forever.
PD Allen has seen the publishing industry from many angles, as an editor, proofreader, typesetter and a sales clerk in a book store. But first and foremost, he is a novelist. With the publishing industry in turmoil due to the rising popularity of ebooks, he has chosen to throw his hat in the ring as an indie author.
PD has led a dynamic and adventurous life. He bicycled the Rocky Mountains, traveled the country as a wandering minstrel, and took degrees in geology, earth science and mathematics. Some consider him an authority on energy issues. His work has been referred to in the US Congress, and in the Australian and French Parliaments.
Yet his greatest talent has always been storytelling. He writes fiction in longhand, with a pen and paper, and then types the handwritten manuscripts into document files for proofing and editing.
Twelve years ago, he had the good fortune to find his soul mate, Elizabeth Anne Pfeiffer (ne Lovan). Elizabeth is an angel who has stood by his side through the best and worst, and has always believed in him, even when he did not believe in himself. He must have done something good, to have such a wonderful person as his partner.
PD Allen is currently at work on Quantum Meditations, which now number over 1,700 and counting. The first volume of Quantum Meditations is forthcoming from Balboa Press, a division of Hay House.
Good stories from the U.P. Did not read it all yet, but I plan on going back to finish them someday. On my Kindle. Oh, I guess this is only the first story. I did finish that one and liked it quite a bit. The whole collection is on my kindle and IPAD. I read this in spring summer of 2012.
This indie author has a great voice. It almost kind of whimsical with a great deal of imagination. I am found the characters engaging the stories kept me reading straight through. Highly recommend.
