A series that encourages children to explore the natural world for themselves by observing nature's activities and to take part in activities of their own that promote a sense of responsibility toward the Earth's plants, animals and natural resources. Notes for parents and teachers that follow each story suggest activities, further reading and websites related to the book's theme. Original.
Meh. I think "we" are just too old for this book. A couple years ago we'd have loved it more. Good intro to seeds and plant life cycles for pre-k-ish ages. We like the illustrator Mike Gordon, and the background critters' antics were funny.
Cute illustrations reminiscent of the works of Mercer Mayer. Does a good job of illustrating the plant life cycle and the process of pollination without being too burdensome. Has a good list of suggestions for questions to ask kids as you proceed through the book and extension activities, which I like.
Another cute book on how nature works, this time about how seeds grow. If parents use this book the way it's intended they can help their young child have a better understanding of how plants grow.
