THE INCREDIBLE STORY OF ONE MAN'S JOURNEY FROM THE TILLING FIELDS OF IRELAND TO BECOME THE NATION'S TOP POTATO. This is the story of Mr. Tayto. A story of hope and courage, of setbacks and success, of triumph and despair, of Cheese and Onion. From a small town boy to a National Icon. This is the story about one man who travelled a long way from the farm - but never forgot his roots. In his own words, this is the story of... The MAN INSIDE The JACKET
This is a fun book that has plenty of wit and a great layout. I think maybe to "get" most of the humour that you probably need to be Irish or have lived in Ireland. I found a lot of the references and puns very funny.
It was funny enough. It’s spoken in a Irish Country accent. Only Irish people will be able to understand what he’s saying. Little bit of language and inappropriate content (sure I’m old enough to know about it now). At times, it was too inappropriate or his sarcasm is too extreme. Been wanting to read since it came out, (when I was 6), but Mum and Dad didn’t allow me to buy at the time. Now I understand why. Don’t recommend it for kids!!! Very good overall. Three stars from me ⭐️⭐️⭐️
A book that I got back in 09’ with a packet of crisps from Tesco’s with me ma.
Where do I start? Well it’s certainly a book. A comedic insight to the formation of tayto crisps I guess. I feel like this book is more of a relic then a reading book something you could say like “oh yeah I had that book” sort of thing.
Autobiography about Mr. Tayto the logo of the most famous brand of patato chips of Ireland. The humor is light but adult orientated. Not many mascots can pull of a whole book.
This is a clever, entertaining and well thought out book that follows the story of Mr Tayto and how he and his family established the most popular crisps in Ireland. Morrison has put a lot of thought and effort into this book and not only produced a book that is highly amusing but one that is also very interesting with facts and figures mixed in with the humour and one liners. A brilliant read, whether you've tried Tayto's or not.
Was probably expecting a lot from such a small book! It basically traces back Ireland's contemporary history in a funnyish way, linking it all to Mr Tayto and its crisps' story. Funny at times.
