What's the weather outside? What's your favourite type of weather? This is a beautifully illustrated book for 4-8 year old readers. Proceeds from this sale benefit nonprofit organisation Library For All, helping children around the world learn to read.
I’m a children’s author based in Melbourne, Australia. I’m passionate about writing for children and my background is in primary school teaching. I have many titles published through various non-profit organisations to promote a love of reading and learning. My books can also be found in the general trade market.
Weather is a great informational text---I could imagine 2nd grade and above would enjoy reading this book. In over 45 pages, Weather describes many different elements of weather: seasons, precipitation, climates, forecasting, clouds, and more. There is even a detailed glossary in the back of the book with many definitions of the terms used throughout the book. There are large images on every page that definitely help enhance the topics covered. For example, on the page describing hail, there are images of different sizes of hail held in a hand so that readers are able to observe and accurately compare the different sizes.
Due to the large interest in informational texts in grades 2-5, I believe almost every student in upper elementary grades would be interested in this book, and also learn a lot from it.
This book had more info than the last one we read about weather. It did have quality pictures, but I wasn’t a fan of the formatting as it was very cluttered.
This book explains weather and climate, and the content is very short and concise compared to other DK books. You can read it in about 10 minutes, like a magazine column.
A very interesting and colourful book. I have always been interested in weather and this book provides a wealth of information about all types of weather. Definitely worth more than one read.
This book includes all kinds of information about weTher, including the seasons, clouds, rain, wind, tornados, and climate changes. This also includes amazing photos of storms and the damage they can cause. There is a table of contents, glossary, and index.
This book is part of our NOEO Biology curriculum. Very informative and fantastic pictures we all enjoyed. My only annoyance is with the propaganda regarding the Eco system, which I suppose I half expected.
