Excellent book on very early Church history. Introduces the reader to the conditions and beliefs of the early,ie post apostolic period. It is written in a engaging style which places the reader right into vortex of the dangerous, exciting fast paced ancient world where Christians enjoyed the glory bestowed on them by God and the glory unleashed upon them by the emperor. This well written book with interesting photos of places and artifacts places the reader right along side ancient christian church life too.

This book whet my appetite for a lifelong interest in Church history, still a needed subject to be studied.
