Hidden Hollows #3
Just Add Romance
No commitment? He can do that. A fling? She can do that.
There’s no harm in adding a little romance.
Everly Kane’s life might be on a Plan B track, but she’s perfectly content with her job, her nights out at the movies, and putting her past behind her. She certainly doesn’t need to be reminded over and over that her sister is, well, engaged to Everly’s ex. Spending time with the visiting architect in town is the distraction that she needs.
Austin Hayes is the architect hired to redesign Everly’s beloved theater. As a widower with a young daughter, the last thing he wants is to juggle another relationship. Thankfully, Austin is only in Everly Falls for a few weeks. What could be better than having a fling with a guy who has no power to break her heart?

I loved this story so much! I read it twice last month. It's going on my list of faves to re-read when I'm not in the mood to start a new book. Everly is lovingly quirky, and her struggles were realistic. She's still grieving her father's death but has a fun weekly tradition of secretly attending the movies at the old theater that her dad used to take her to. Her sister is dating her former best friend/ex-boyfriend who dumped her, and her mother is an overbearing, hovering, worrywart. She loves her family but they don't seem to understand her and her need for space. Austin is genuine and charming, and it was easy to see how these two had such great chemistry. Don't let the book synopsis fool you- their relationship is never fake (although Everly did make up a different man to get her mom off her back), and their friendship quickly develops into a sweet romance that has them both enjoying their time together while concerned about what the future would bring. I appreciated that their relationship is so natural and they bring out the best in each other as they deal with each other's families. Austin has a daughter to consider and his parents who support him in her care. As dynamics become more complex and involved, Everly and Austin's relationship has some tests to withstand. This story is simply delightful and also has the depth of emotion that makes it easy to connect with the characters. Highly recommend!

*Happy sigh* I’m still smiling thinking about these two characters and their sweet story. Everly and Austin have had some struggles and heartache in the past but I loved watching them find healing and love in this story.
Everly’s ex-boyfriend is now her sister’s fiancé. Ouch! Every step she tries to make in healing from the heartache of that situation just pushes her back several more. Her sister is determined to have Everly a part of everything to do with the wedding and planning it. So Everly seeks solace in the one place that brings her peace and hope. She has several surprises waiting for her though when she inadvertently becomes friends with Austin…the guy set to wreck her place of solace.
Austin was fabulous! He took on Everly’s determination to save her place of solace and finds a way to move forward with his work but help her not feel like she’s losing everything she cherished.
I loved their interactions. I loved the way they became friends and were able to gain a better perspective on their lives through each other. I loved how they helped each other. They weren’t afraid to be straightforward and talk to the other. And there’s a fun little surprise throughout the book that was just so darn cute! The little surprise kept the storyline between Austin and Everly moving but also causing me to wonder how everything was going to work out. And let me just tell you that Austin just goes the extra mile to show Everly that he’s the real deal!
This was a sweet story and had me smiling (and sighing) several times. Lots of sweet and clean romance and heart moving moments. And a few not so sweet and heart moving moments…at least not happy heart moving moments. I had a few characters that I wanted to give them a piece of my mind. I wanted to tell them to shape up a few times. Luckily they grew up (a little bit).
I loved it! And thinking more about this book, I’m smiling even more as I write my thoughts in this review. I even went back and reread the ending. *Happy sigh indeed*
This book is part of a multi-author series. They are all standalone novels but are connected by the town and some of the characters.
Content: Clean. Some kissing and mild innuendos but nothing graphic.
I received a copy from the author. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.

I love Heather B. Moore and I loved this book! I am always drawn to fake to real scenarios. I really loved the overall feel to this book. It wasn't over the top or extreme but had a real, down to earth vibe that made me comfortable and happy. The first meet in the movie theater was cute and really set the stage for the rest of the book. It was great.
Everly is a fun character, a little quirky, and very sweet. She seemed to know how to soothe people and help them feel better. Everly tends to put other people before herself which is a great quality but I also loved when she took a stand and let her voice be heard. Austin is patient with Everly, especially in the beginning when her emotions come to the front with the injustice she felt over the movie theater. I love how he listened to her and tried to please her.
This is the third book in this Hidden Hollows series and I haven't read the others. Each book in this series is written by a different author and each book can stand alone. This book is on KU if you have that.

March 31, 2022This is one of those books where the main character really took over and told her story. I loved writing Everly and c0-creating this small town life for her. This book was originally published under "Loving Her Fling" in the Hidden Hollows series. It was a blast to create the world with other excellent authors. Now that our publishing rights have been returned, I renamed the title, series, and a few characters inside the book that were part of the shared Hidden Hollows world. With the novel Just Add Romance as solely mine, there will be more in this series! Stay tuned . . .

I never turn down an opportunity to read a book by Heather B. Moore, and this fake-to-real relationship story was no exception. Everly's sister is engaged to her former boyfriend (can we say awkward?) and even though Everly's trying to move on it's hard. Because she's family, Everly has to attend showers, dinners, etc and socialize with the happy couple, plus her family keeps asking how she's doing with the wedding come up so soon. Austin doesn't make the best first impression on Everly, or the second for that matter, when she finds out he's there to renovate the old theater that she loves so much.
Poor Everly, her family hounded her so much about not having a boyfriend (like that's a necessity for happiness) she felt she had to invent one, then get someone she hardly knows to pretend to be her boyfriend. I found it sad that Everly didn't "really believe them" when people paid her a compliment. Because she didn't see her own beauty or talent so she thought others weren't being truthful when they complimented her.
I really liked Austin. He's a great dad and he didn't want to destroy the old theater, just update it and make it better. I liked that he listened to Everly when she talked about how she felt regarding the theater and her sister's engagement. I think he's the reason Everly was finally able to stand up to her family. I wanted to cheer for her after her mother had a talk with her at work. It was about dang time. Who goes to their daughter's place of employment and has a conversation like that?!! No wonder everyone in town knows her business. I thought Austin's relationship with Everly felt genuine and not rushed. There were no hidden agendas or games--they were honest with each other.
This is a clean romance that can be read in a couple of hours, and is part of new series--Hidden Hollows--written by different authors, but each book is a standalone.

I'm addicted!
I loved my middle row, middle seat spot for this delightful small-town romance. Everly has a religious routine that helps her find peace with her life, in spite of some family challenges. Her character struck a chord with me, as I don't like to feel out-of-control and thrive on order, but her world is tilted on its very axis when Austin comes to town.
Austin is just what the doctor ordered to force Everly out of her comfort zone and thrust her into a world of change, learning to stand up for herself, and discovering the beautiful world of compromises.
This fake relationship had tendrils of truth, which really caused it to seize my heart in its clutches. Watching Everly blossom, as these two characters found passion and healing, was worth every single page.
What is this new series??! I'm completely addicted.
Content: mild language; mild+ romance (kissing, talk of affairs)

I enjoyed this one!
I thought this was well written, good storyline and likeable characters. Austin comes to Hidden Hollows to renovate the old movie theater. A movie theater Everly is very sentimental about. I thought Austin and Everly were cute together, both have their walls up from past relationship pain, but they don't let that stand in their way of getting to know each other.

I loved Austin and Everly and Jessica was a little sweetheart! I enjoyed the complications of their past relationships and how they worked through them. These two had the best chemistry and this made for a really sweet, clean romance.

This was a very sweet contemporary romance. I loved Everly King. I loved how quirky she was and how much she loved going to the movies. I also loved how the romance developed between Everly and Austin. I loved how they could have been enemies, what with him being in charge of remodeling the movie theater, but instead they became friends and then a couple because he was willing to listen to her concerns and help her see that he wasn’t going to destroy something that she loved. I thought that this was a very sweet story and I would love to read that other books in this series.
I received a complimentary book from publishers, publicists, and or authors. A review was not required and all opinions and ideas expressed are my own.

Austen Hayes comes to Hidden Hollows for a few months to renovate the local movie theater. Everly King loves the movie theater the way it is. She expects to fight Austen about the changes, but is pleasantly surprised when he listens to her concerns.
I feel like the title led me astray a little bit on this one. Austen and Everly start with a nice friendship that transitions nicely into a relationship. They don't know where it can go since Austen doesn't live in Hidden Hollows, but I don't feel like either one of them is just using the other for a good time. Their relationship has depth, chemistry, and humor. I love the way that they both support one another. I never really felt that they were "a fling," but I did love their relationship.
While part of the Hidden Hollows series, this book can be read independently. I haven't read the other books yet, but Loving Her Fling has me interested in them now. Hidden Hollows was the quintessential small town where everyone knows your business and recognizes when you're from out of town. This town was full of friendly people, and some quirky characters.
Content: clean (some kissing, no violence, no language, talk of an affair)

Such a charming story
This is Austin and Everly’s story. Both have been hurt by past loves and unforeseen circumstances. Austin is a widower and a single dad. He hasn’t dated anyone since he lost his wife. Everly is single after an abrupt breakup from her boyfriend. Who is now her sister’s fiancé.
Things start out a little bit rocky between the two of them. Austin is surprised to discover he wants to get to know this woman. Everly wants to get to know this man but her family and her insecurities are clouding her judgment.
Austin is just about perfect. He is sweet as can be and he is just what Everly needs to help her gain confidence. He doesn’t let Everly get away with thinking less of herself. Of course, Everly is just what Austin needs to believe he can have a second chance at love. Everly is perfect to him and bonus! his daughter loves her too.
I’ve enjoyed this series, written by multiple authors. The books have been seamless, flowing into each other nicely, yet each author leaves her touch on Hidden Hollows. I highly recommend this book. Start at the beginning of the series for a complete picture of the small town of Hidden Hollows.

This was a sweet romance that seemed very realistic. He's in town for a job and then he's supposed to leave, but he meets the first woman he wants to get to know after the loss of his wife. And he's the one man she wants to be around after her ex-boyfriend chose her sister over her. Everything seemed so natural as the widowed father and the artistic loner fall in love during the every day sort of stuff.

I enjoyed this story. I liked how Everly and Austin worked together. Their relationship starts out as a friendship and builds slowly towards more. I like how they didn’t let lack of communication and misunderstandings happen and cause problems. I was a little irritated at Everly’s mom and sister. Jessica is cute and adds to the story. Overall a good book.

So I liked this and I enjoyed the main characters and the ending was good. On the surface, it was even pretty well resolved, but for some reason, it didn’t feel resolved. Maybe I think the parents should have planned to move too? Or there should’ve been some resolution for the sister? Or something. I don’t know... it’s probably just a me issue. Read it for yourself and see what you think.

This was such a fun book to read. This is the first book I have read in this series, but not the first book I have read by this author. Once I started reading this book I had a hard time putting it down (chores may or may not have been completed). It was fun to read about Everly and Austin. Learn their struggles and trials and then see them learn to love and realize that they each helped the other be the best person they could be. I really enjoyed this book.

Loving Her Fling by Heather B. Moore
A widower with a little girl, and a woman who has been scarred by her ex — made worse by being in a small town and him getting together with her sister. Embarrassment aside, that really does a job on one’s self-esteem. Despite the title, neither of them really do flings, and this is a sweet story of a couple helping each other to overcome their disappointing pasts.
Clean, well-written and well-paced, I recommend this book.
I received a free copy, and this is an honest review.

Very enjoyable clean romance. It is definitely a feel good read with loveable characters. Good communication between Everly and Austin and a build up to their romance. Easy to read and well written. I received a free copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

I couldn’t finish this book fast enough! I loved the love story of Austin and Everly. They made each other so happy! It was a joy to read!

Well dang! This is a book 3. I know what my next two reads will be! Everly’s character reads off the page as a down to earth small town girl. I love that! I admire anyone who can be themselves. But her true “realness” comes with her struggle about trying to be supportive of her sister’s upcoming wedding in spite of the groom. I like that it bothers her. It should bother her! He was her ex-boyfriend for goodness sake. He bothers me too! Austin, on the other hand, makes me believe in those unseen forces that create an attraction between a man and a woman. I appreciate their honest relationship development. A great love story that grows through their challenges. Thanks to Rebecca Connolly for providing my copy. Another fun read by Heather B. Moore.

~This book was originally titled Loving Her Fling. The author got the rights back to it and has updated the name and cover~
Happy Reading!!!

It is 6:00 a.m. and I read through the night to finish this book! Rarely do I get so caught up in a story that I just can't put it down but this one had me hooked. It is the story of Austin, a widower who comes to Hidden Hollows to renovate the town movie theater, and Everly whom he meets at the theater on a Wednesday night. While Austin is there to scope out the needed renovations, Everly is sentimentality attached to this structure. Although the first few days of interaction between them are rocky, they soon find themselves attracted to each other.
All good romances have some drama and Loving Her Fling has it in spades, this one involving 2 sisters, an ex-boyfriend, an upcoming wedding and a little girl. While Everly and Austin walk through these minefields, their attraction proves to be more than a diversion. Have no fear, because their is definitely an HEA ending in this awesome romance novel. 5 stars!

This is a well written small town romance with strong characters in Everly and Austin. The author does a great job building a fake romance, filling it with a fun and humorous dialogue along with the serious issues. The supporting characters help to bring the story around along with the descriptive scenes helping to move the story fluidly. I enjoyed reading.

What I enjoyed:
• Everly lied to her mom about a boyfriend. Was it still OK for a 27 year old to have a pretend boyfriend? This immediately caught my attention, because I wondered what type of trouble would come from Everly's deception?
• I liked how Everly and Austin met. Their meeting immediately caught my interest and drew me into their story.
• This was a clean read. But that doesn't take away from the romance between Everly and Austin. This was a romance between two very kind people who had admirable qualities.
• The pacing of this story was neither too slow nor too fast.
• The story was told from alternating viewpoints of Everly and Austin. The transitions between the viewpoints were so seemless, you didn't pay any attention to the changes.
• Moore did an amazing job with her dialogues between her characters. Sometimes they were humorous and other times they were serious.
• The writer's words painted clear pictures that helped me to visualize the scenes and the emotions of the characters. The author's writing style was concise vivid, and clear.
I was given an advance copy of this book. My review was voluntary and my opinions were my own. I highly recommend this Hidden Hollows Novel and I am looking forward to the next book in this series.
