2.5 disappointed ⭐
I have been loving this series. Really loving it - reading a book a day. Until this one.
The paranormal and background story is still awesome and has the right pace. The secondary characters (especially the mc's from the previous books) still great. The steamy scenes are pretty hot too.
The author's writing keeps shining and transporting us to that place within the book with ease.
BUT:
1. This couple made me go mad. Both stupid immature morons. Both of them. The miscommunication kept happening at the most stupid and unrequited steps and levels. And they were supposed to be best friends since childhood 🙄🙄🙄 how ridiculous. They acted like they didn't know each other.
The first two books did have some kind of miscommunication or assumption happening (tropes I hate), but there was a solid motive for it and was dealt with with some maturity. In this book was just, not only gratuitous but childish.
2. Also, the repetition I "complained" about in the first book came back with a bang and a looooot of extra inner monologues. Maybe it was that I was not so invested in the romance plot, but I ended up skipping paragraphs after 40% of the book and at some chapters only concentrating on the ones with dialogue.
I'll read one more book in the series because this one might have been a hiccup. If the next goes down the same line as this one, I'll be sadly done.
