Narcissistic Abuse Recovery: The Complete Guide to Recover From Emotional Abuse, Identify Narcissists, and Overcome Abusive Relationships

Rate this book
Narcissistic abuse is hard to make sense of. One day things are going great, the next, you’re left emotionally torn to pieces. You might be asking yourself, “what is the motivation behind this?”, “how do I respond to this specific form of narcissism?”, or “is my relationship with this person even salvageable?”. The Narcissistic Abuse Recovery guide will help you set healthy boundaries and make sense of the complex. It will give you actionable steps you can take toward achieving healthier relationships. When you have no idea how to properly handle narcissistic abuse, it will linger, escalate, and go on far longer than it should. It’s time to clear the muddy waters. This guide offers a deep dive into the forces that drive narcissistic abuse and how to recover from it. You will learn about the ✔️ Different types of narcissists, their personalities, and how they behave so you can spot them;
✔️ The 7 do’s and don’ts when facing conflict with a narcissist and how to stop the argument;
✔️ What manipulation tactics narcissists and other toxic people practice to keep you close and how to break free;
✔️ Practical steps to end the vicious cycle without relapsing;
✔️ Learn about the other forms of toxic/manipulative relationships;
✔️ How to transform your mindset so you have strength to remove yourself from the toxic relationship;
✔️ Strategies to get on, and stay on, the recovery path and becoming mentally tough;
✔️ Taking a holistic approach in gaining back all that was lost;
✔️ How to stop attracting narcissists to ensure any future relationships are healthy ones;
✔️ And much, much more. Making progress with a narcissist is a challenge. It’s not in their nature to take responsibility for their actions or to seek out healthy outcomes themselves. A narcissist will lie through their teeth, rob you of your sense of worth, and leave you feeling utterly drained. How much longer can you let your entire world revolve around the needs and wants of another? How much longer will you allow someone to make you question your own sanity? It’s not your responsibility to fix them, but it is your responsibility to do the best you can for your own wellbeing.

Meh.

Needlessly verbose and repetitive. The best content could have been a series of bullet lists that wouldn’t fill more than a few pages of that. The rest reads like all the infographics on social media.

Also it doesn’t sound clinical or methodical in terms of ‘recovery’…I’d not attempt this without a whole therapist on hand.

This book makes for a fine overall summary of narcissism and self-care strategies. It lacks depth and overly simplifies a very complex dynamic, however. The author fails to address the angry narcissist, whose controlling and sometimes life-threatening actions are more than difficult to navigate. Some of the information is contradictory. The author states that you should put yourself first, but you should also show empathy for narcissists and "feed their ego", for example. (Generally, you really should not feed their egos. This can be detrimental in many ways.) One coping strategy listed on many bulleted lists, is to -simply- get a hobby. Overall, I found the material too elementary to a point of being insulting. Had the author expelled personal experience and some indication that she knows how tenous these relationships are, that would've helped. Also there's a focus on children when she discusses coping strategies, but the book isn't written exclusively for parents. Or if it is, it should suggest that in the title. Even so, parents have limited say when courts are involved in custody decisions. Coparenting is a huge issue that the author simplifies beyond simplicity here. For basics, it's an okay start.

This book has been written to give a very simplistic and broad introduction to Narcissistic personality and the abuse people in relationship with a narcissist undergo.

It has some simple and practical strategies to identify if you are in relationship with a narcissist. Narcissists are overtly self focussed people and can be manipulative to agreta extent.
It explains terms like gas lighting etc.
The book gives some basic self help tips to take care of yourself and recover from this kind of abuse.

It does not go into details and I recommend it more as an introductory book , do not expect it do help you heal or give you tips on how to help those in such relationships.Whatever is in the book is easily available on Instagram and even google.

THIS IS A FAKE BOOK! **Video linked below**
"Written" by a young man named Josh who uses AI-generated "Linda" with FAKE credentials to write alllllllllll these books about every popular psychology term! To make money from people genuinely looking for answers!

Linda Hill's author website is a parked URL. The publishing company is fake, and its website leads to Josh. Her photo is fake, all these big companies sharing her work (Forbes, CNN, etc) have not done so. Josh has pumped out SO MANY books in her name - real psychologists take YEARS to research and publish.

Easing the road to Narcissistic abuse recovery..

An excellent book or rather a practical guide to those who are victims of Narcissistic abuse. I was very late to understand my wife's demeaning manipulative tactics that made me a loner and there's none left to believe my side of story. Narcs may need empathy but the damage they do their intimate partners crueller than physical torture.
The author has a good understanding of what NPD is and suggest ways to escape or stop playing the victim card. This book can embolden empaths like who are their prime victims.

Excellent information and strategies for overcoming a toxic relationship! It is a quick and easy ready, definitely worth your time if you’re getting out of an abusive relationship with a narcissist. There are often statements like “this chapter details…” or summaries of what was learned before or after presenting the information, which wasn’t completely needed. Regardless, as a therapist, this is a book that I will recommend to clients.

A good book for anyone starting out learning about Narcissism. The book is very short and not overwhelming. Anyone else (like myself) who has read books on the topic before, won't find much new here. It should be noted that the book carries the usual 'New Agey Baggage'. I will return to this book in future if I need to refresh myself on the topic of Narcissism. In fact this book would act as an ideal refresher as it is a very quick and mostly comfortable read.

Short and on point guide to start recognizing sooner a toxic dynamic with an NPD person or that has those traits, and how to start recovering from it. I appreciate it doesn't go into victim blaming while giving tools to avoid falling victim into this type of abuse again. This should not be taken as a replacement of therapy, but it is a good complement.

Super short but informative

This was a helpful and informative book. It clocks in at under 100 pages (really more like 85). You could read it in a day. I recommend for those trying to deal with, escape or recover from the narcissist in their life!

It was helpful, but the multitude of typos at times overshadowed her knowledge of the subject. I can't take somebody seriously if they can't write grammatically correct, ya know?

I know more about narcissism abuse now than I did before though, and ultimately that's why I read it.

This was mostly trite bullet points delivered in an upbeat "girlboss" tone. You can find better information on any free website about the topic.

A decent book. I think I need to read it again sometime to have it set in my mind all that is laid out on the book. It is a short book which I like.
