Tru Willis refuses to feel sorry for himself.

Sure, he’s a barren rabbit shifter who has to spend his heat alone every year. And of course, he’d love to have a mate and children of his own. But he’s too busy nursing wild animals back to health and babysitting his cute nieces and nephews to feel lonely.

Until someone starts leaving gifts on his doorstep. Sweet, handmade gifts that make Tru feel special and treasured. The gifts all smell of alpha–an alpha Tru has never met face to face.

One day Tru finds a letter on his doorstep instead of a gift. In it, the alpha requests to help Tru through his heat. He even leaves a photo of himself, and he’s breathtaking.

But the stranger doesn’t offer anything else. Just one heat. Just a handful of days, and then he’ll be gone.

Can Tru handle giving himself to a man he won’t be able to keep? And if he can’t, does he have the willpower to say no?

Swept Away is shifter romance set in the omegaverse with MPreg, knotting, and nesting. It’s book one in the Rabbit Hollow series.

Looooved the story just as much as before! ❤️❤️
But i wasn’t really sold on the audio. While the narrator has a super nice voice to listen to his performance was only okay-ish.

omfg this was so uber cute and sweet it almost made me cry. And look at this gorgeous cover!!

So while I’m lying here in bed, bundled up, pitying myself for feeling like crap and coughing my lungs out, I read this book and it was just perfect. It gave me all the snuggly, warm and fuzzy feels this cozy season deserves.

This sweet tale is about an omega rabbit shifter, barren and unwanted, and an alpha golden eagle shifter in search for his fated mate. Reading the beginning of the book it was pretty clear that a union between these two was not supposed to happen. They are different types of shifters and while rabbit shifters only mate for a short period of time (over and over again in their lives), eagle shifters mate for life. But what if they were meant for each other after all?!

When I had gone for a standard checkup before leaving home, a doctor had examined my second set of wings, just to make sure they were okay. He had said my wings were abnormally large, probably because they needed to carry a mate who didn’t have wings of his own. Not fated, my ass.

This truly was the bestest kind of comfort-read. I can absolutely recommend! ♡

So, so sweet and adorbs!

I really love the secret admire trope in this one. The gifts, secretly in love and stalking was cuute. The moments they share even as strangers were making me swooning 🥹❤️ This was a really low angst full with mpreg and nesting sweetness! I do find it hard to love low angst books, but this one was a heck yes! I had so much fun reading this <3<3

I love Griffin, his monologues talking about Tru is everything!!! I love how confident he was with calling Tru as his omega even though they never talked 😂😂 and he’s not even weird about it. The ✨ confidence ✨ lolll love it <3 He’s also so sweet and cutee not like what I expected an alpha is. His cute obsession over Tru was everything! 🫠❤️

Tru is so father-like, clingy and mature at the same time. His longing for a perfect alpha and having babies were something I felt sad with him. It was so wholesome to watch 🥺🥺

They’re both clingy and always in need of reassurances, but because they get each other, their relationship feels so adorable. And despite all of the insecurities/doubts, they never once fall into miscommunications instead, manage to be so mature about it. I melt!

Poor Tru for growing up in such culture. It’s like he couldn’t have any sense of individual growth at all. But I’m so happy he found Griff!! 💜💜💜

favourite details **might contain spoilers**

☺︎ eagle and rabbit carvings 🥺🥺🥺🥺
☺︎ cute shifting together moments 🥹💕
☺︎ when Griff convince Tru he is safe in his eagle formmm, he bow his head a little and walk slowly OH MY FUCK SO CUTE!!!😭😭😭
☺︎ sky eagle sex and the orgasm drop moment 🥺😩😩

Cuteness overload! Haha this was a sweet opposite attract, with little to no angst, with a little instalove thrown in since it’s a shifter romance.

Griff and Tru were cute together. I do wish the ending was longer. I think I was expecting at least one or two more chapters haha

I can’t wait for Logan’s book next, but I am really hoping Kyle’s is after since he’s a quirky character that I would love to learn more about.

Swept Away by Amy Bellows and C.W. Gray is a sweet, fluffy romance between a golden eagle shifter alpha and a lionhead rabbit shifter omega, that explores deeper themes of free will versus spiritual ideas of fate, and how either way, love is something that all people need in various forms.

Tru and Griffin were so friggin' sweet. I absolutely LOVED reading this. Griffin is an alpha who has been taught by his fathers within their culture of being a supportive and loving partner to their omega, and they only have one partner in life - their fated mate. Meanwhile, Tru is from rabbit shifter culture which omegas and alphas live separately and due to biology, there is no final mating between rabbit alpha and rabbit omega. They always part ways - and we see throughout the story how Tru's acceptance of looking into a different form of relationship encourages the other rabbit alphas to do this as well.

Griffin takes care of Tru so sweetly and loves him so fully. I love how that once they finally get to the point of communicating earnestly (as they erred to being almost too considerate to not bring up their own personal feelings), they both just communicated what they needed and shared different cultural aspects that mattered to them. Tru has his insecurities but is also strong in how he can maintain his independence, and also has the cutest cottage ever. I loved how much he and Griffin fell into quite a sweet rhythm.

This is just sweet fluff, honestly. It is emotional, honest, swoony - but not angsty in a way that it tears out your heart. Bellows and Gray both have excellent writing, and masterfully handle aspects of spirituality versus skepticism, fate versus free will. Even just for those paragraphs I suggest you read it.

Also, the babies? The nesting? So fucking cute.

I highly recommend this book!

This is a lot of telling and very little showing. The careful explanatory tone of the narrator makes it worse. I really don't care about these characters.

I cried reading those letters omg
The courting I'm so weak, the pregnancy test 😭😭😭, the nesting omg this was just too cute.
Both mcs are so insecure and having so much doubts about each other I'm glad they didn't give up on each other and persistent.

Note: I’m slowly trying to get into the Mpreg stuff since I’ve read they’re mostly fluff stories but this was .. a lot. 😵‍💫 I dunno if Mpreg is for me but I can see why a lot of people think this is a very cute story. 🤔

DNF @ 19%.

I wanted something light and mindless… and this might have been a little too on the nose.

Once I read “food and board” (not room and board), it was all downhill from there.

I’ve read Amy Bellows nonshifter omegaverse before, never her shifter and none of her co-written stuff. This reads like the two authors loosely brainstormed together, went their separate ways and wrote their parts, and then slapped them together an called it a day. It doesn’t really make sense, it’s not well written and it’s not well thought out.

Oh my goodness...

I want to cuddle some winged rabbits now. This was so freaking sweet, cute, and I want more.

Tru is a rabbit shifter who has been told he was barren and no alpha wanted him. Griffin is an eagle shifter who has been waiting for his mate to show up. Then these two finally smell each other and the courting begins.

I'm not gonna lie, I hated the alpha rabbits and the way their culture was. Though I loved that going at it like bunnies was a real thing.

Cute, domestic, unlikely shifter pair.

CW: Infertility shaming

This book was a mix of supremely sweet courting/domestic bliss and cultural introspection about how our expectations in life are influenced by the cultures we grow up with.

In the few books I've read by this author with multiple shifter cultures, this is something she addresses quite well and I liked it here: Griffin and Tru had to overcome their pre-conceived ideas of what a relationship is to find a true partnership.

I really liked Griffin and Tru together as a couple. Griffin's gifts and courting was just adorable, and Tru was such an absolute sweetheart with his garden and his little rescue animals. Bless them both.

The rabbit shifter culture wasn't my favourite. There's a clear view that omegas are only worth their weight either for sex or as baby incubators; though by the end there is some questioning over these roles and I suppose you can't expect a major shift overnight.

Honestly, I was a bit uncomfortable with an aspect of the conclusion.

Sexual content: Explicit, not overdone.

Adorable, I'm in love. Must I even say more?

- Fated mates (predator and prey)
- Pining from a distance
- Homemade gift giving
- Scenting
- pet appreciation
- nesting
- and such wonderful falling in love

A small portion of quotes
"I strongly considered walking up and introducing myself. At the very least, it would give me an excuse to get closer to him. But what was I supposed to say: "You smell like home?" or "I feel an inexplicable need to be near you?" (p. 9)

"I gathered the pile of pillows and blankets I had spent the past week collecting. I carried armfuls into my room, making several trips, and took my time arranging them on my bed. I needed a soft, cozy nest." (p. 61)

"Griff's eyes were glassy with unshed tears as I hopped on his chest and buried my face in his neck, I wanted to smell like him - to be his." (p. 79)

NSFW infos:
- One eagle shifter (alpha, 26, biologically only capable of having romantic feelings for mate, long brown hair, bigger, wings as shifter and ten feet wingspan as human when half-shifted)
- One rabbit shifter (omega, 25, virgin, believes he's infertile, smaller, curvy)
- bonding via sex mid-flight
- knotting
- strict top/bottom dynamic (alpha tops, omega bottoms)

This book was not for me. It was both a combination of it’s me not the book and also things in this book that just didn’t make sense. I think it was my first time reading this author and it will probably be my last.

It’s me problems:
I like sweet and fluff, but this was too much. If you like your books extremely fluffy this will work much better than it did for me.
Cw for infertility.

It’s the book problems:
We have two different shifters, an eagle and a bunny and they couldn’t be more different. Bunnies are by far the worst shifters I have read. Alphas and omegas only mix for mating and after a time the alphas just leave the omegas to go and mate with someone else. Omegas do everything, children do not have contact with their alpha parents. In contrast we have the eagles shifters. They mate for life and work as team.

The abuse the rabbit omegas go through really put a hamper of my enjoyment of the book.

If you like very fluffy books with atypical shifters you may enjoy this book a lot more than I did.

Adorable. Loved the courtship rituals, the strict social boundaries that get maneuvered, and the sweet fluffy dynamic. Super fun to read about a predator/prey esque pairing in an eagle and rabbit shifter duo. The connection with sky and spirituality for Griffin was a really nice touch. And I’ve never read a mating bond quite like where that element went. Excited for the rest of the series.

An excellent shifter romance with slow burn, sexiness, and all the crazy antics I love to see from Amy Bellows.
Griffin has been searching for his one true mate for years. Most eagle shifters find their mates immediately, leaving Griffin to wonder if these long lonely years mean that is mate dead. Everything changes when he catches the smell of a rabbit omega in the produce aisle. Can a predator claim prey as a mate? Griffin is frantic to adapt to Tru's rabbit culture. But Tru doesn't need all that nonsense he just needs Griffin.

This was sooo cute!! A golden eagle shifter finds his fated mate in a rabbit shifter. Both were so timid and caring for each other. What I loved the most was the author wrote multiple scenes where they had shifted into their animal forms, cuddle and caring. Kudos! For making the most of a shifter romance story!

4/5 ⭐

Swept Away
By Amy Bellows

Griffin is an alpha eagle shifter. When he comes of age, he leaves home in search of his fated mate. Discovering Rabbit Hollow on his journeys, he finds what he's been looking for. But it's been years since he's smelled his elusive mate's scent when he finds it once more, standing in the aisle at the grocery store.

Tru is an omega rabbit shifter. He's spent all of his heats alone and despairs when his next is coming soon. According to the doctor his scent is repulsive to alpha rabbit shifters because he is barren. Soon after meeting a predator shifter at the grocery store who knocked his socks off he begins receiving little gifts on his doorstep leading up to a letter offering to be with Tru through his next heat just this once. What Tru doesn't know is that this offering will come with a huge price to pay for Griffin.

The way omegas were treated by the alphas in Tru's community was heartbreaking. They (male and female alike) were manwhores without a conscience and cared nothing for the omegas they bedded or the children they gave birth too. Being barren Tru was considered a loss and pushed out by not just the community elders, but all of the alphas as well. Without his loving omega mom and cherished fellow omegas he would have been completely alone. I loved Griffin and Tru's relationship and seeing how they worked through the differences of being two different shifter types. There was a schmexy moment as well that was very unique.

Although I tend to shy away from omegaverse, the blurb hooked me and I’m really happy it did. I picked Swept Away up after midnight, wanting something, anything to erase the disappointment of my previous pick. I figured I’d read a chapter or two and go to bed. Wrong, so wrong! I was up until after the sunrise, completely unable to put Swept Away down. It’s not that it kept me anxiously on the edge of my seat or needing to know what happened. It was that it was so sweet and gentle and soothing. It feels like it’s been a long time since I read something so comforting. And honestly I really, REALLY need that comfort at the moment (the SCOTUS RvW draft opinion/US political landscape is really f’ing with my peace of mind).

So yeah, though omegaverse, fated mates, knotting, mpreg, etc. aren’t really my thing, Swept Away and it’s gentle, kindhearted MCs stole my heart and soothed my soul. I can’t decide on a star rating so, at least for the moment, I’m leaving this one blank but do recommend it if those things are up your alley and/or if you KU.

Love and hugs y’all, the world needs more kindness and compassion ❤️❤️‍🩹

This was absolute cuteness overload. The rabbit shifter who takes care of injured baby bunnies, the quiet and sentimental eagle… it was wonderful. Also it made me cry in the best happy way. Somehow managed to be sweet and genuine without being too much. Would definitely recommend!

Another sweet shifter romance from Bellows, this time a rabbit shifter and a golden eagle shifter. I love the unique and varied shifter cultures Bellows comes up with, and appreciated that in this book, some of the shifter cultural norms are questioned and challenged. This is quite possibly the cutest romance I’ve ever read, and if you are in need of some simple, straightforward cute fluff, you should read this book immediately.

Tru is a barren rabbit shifter. Griff is an eagle shifter. Culture holds for eagles that they leave the nest and fly to their new home and their mate finds them soon after. 6 years later, Griff is still looking. Tru is a barren rabbit shifter who has never attracted an alpha and endures his heat alone. While shopping one night, Griff smells his mate.

This was a super cute story with two types of shifters I had never read about before. The culture of rabbit shifters was odd, but makes sense. Eagle shifters were another rare breed and I loved the way Griff was raised to help and pamper his mate.

The building of the nest for each group was neat and I liked the way they worked together to make their nest the best of both worlds.
