Another good one from Helen Moss....though the kids got abit scared halfway through when the monk with the freaky eyes appeared so I had to read the last bit to myself as hate to leave a book half read!!
Exciting tale about a Cornish myth of the 'Keepers of the Key'.I really enjoyed it.

Adventure Island. The name sums up this book series perfectly. I love the series and the book The Mystery of the Secret Room. The keepers of the key and who they were and what they protected is what this book is about. Legends and mystery meet each other in this brilliant book.

This book is extremely amazing. Not since Theodore Boone, has a nosy, crime-obsessed kid been so hard to resist. It's full of detective work and adventurous competition inside.

This book is about Emil, Jack, Scott and Drift the dog launching a investigation about the Secret Room under Aunt Kate's house. When Boomerang the cat fell inside, they've discovered a secret room pertaining to 'The Keepers of the Key'.A verse of a poem was left behind, saying:
'Keepers of the Key,
What will you be?
Smuggler,Smith,Hunter,Priest
Farmer,Fisherman,King!'
Following the poem and the encrusted pattern on the wall, the children astonishingly found out the puzzle by asking Old Bob, looking at the deeds in Aunt Kate's house, snooping in the church, looking in Scott's toy box and researching history in 1755 (because that was the year of the Keepers).

I recommend this book to everyone because this book series is well planned out by Helen Moss, laying the clues around and hinting the meaning discreetly for Emily and Drift to figure out.It is a very intriguing book, and the Adventure Island series will rack your brains to figure out the clues on the lead with Emily, Drift the dog, Scott and Jack!
