A good book, but I've read a couple too many books about this topic. Everything ends up being rather anecdotal in these books, which is something which is pretty unavoidable for a number of reasons so I can't really blame it. Still worth the time if one is interested in it.

After reading this book and hearing about the experiences of my friends traveling there, I realized I never wanted to visit there but I would try to savor its greatness through its literature and music instead. It's hard for me to enjoy visiting a place where death has been prevalent during and around my lifetime. Russia and America will become great allies not in the too distant future because of mutual interests and shared enemies.
