It's Harvest Time!: A Book with Foldout Pages

Rate this book
Watch seeds grow right before your eyes in this follow-up title to How Does a Seed Grow? Readers can follow the fun clues and guess which fruits or vegetables will grow from each seed. With a lift of each foldout flap, kids can watch the seeds take root in the soil, sprout from the ground, and finally, make the fruits and veggies we love to eat! A tiny kernel grows a bright yellow ear of corn, a pumpkin seed grows a big orange pumpkin, an apple seed grows juicy red apples, a carrot seed grows a smooth orange carrot, and a bean seed grows crunchy green string beans.

Each cardstock page of this book folds out into a large 14" x 14" inch page that reveals a child enjoying the healthy and delicious fruits and veggies that the seeds have become!

A fun, fold-out book that shows the whole plant growing.
The harvest includes sweet corn, red apples, carrots, purple grapes, and orange pumpkins.

A great fictional book that takes kids on a journey of how food grows, from the seed all the way to the plant. I think that this book would be great for students k-2. It lends a lot of valuable information to students about how our food actually grows, with great foldout pages that keep the students wanting to turn the page to see the next one!

I think this is a good book for any children that are interested in how food grows. This has a bunch of good information and step by step text and illustrations on how the process of food growth works. When I was a child I do not think I would have been interested in this book but some children may like this book.

This is a such a fun book for young children. It is a fold out page book with a picture of the seed and a riddle on the front and the picture of the plant the seed grows into on the inside flap. I think kids will really be excited and get into guessing what plant will grow from what seeds. I would use this in a lesson on plants and growing things.

A really cute book for very young children about fruits and vegetables growing from seeds into the actual food. I liked opening the flaps to discover one of the children pictured on the cover holding the harvested fruit. Little ones will enjoy this book.
