New to Leslie? Readers suggest starting with 'The Bossy One' (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C6BP3BBF) —Imagine a sunny Minnesotan Mary Poppins, employed by a grumpy Irish billionaire. The story is a blend of humor, revenge, passion, heartbreak, hope, and witty banter. As one reader put it, ‘This story had me squealing at the romantic moments and silly moments.’
Leslie North is the USA Today Bestselling pseudonym for a critically-acclaimed author of romantic comedies and contemporary romance. The anonymity allows her to fully express her creativity, especially in the romantic and fun sexy scenes!
In fact, she confesses to loving her fictional persona, Leslie North, more than her everyday self! Her bestselling books are known for their strong characters, particularly women who aren’t afraid to challenge an alpha bosshole. And the humor? So infectious, you’ll be laughing out loud in public!
Leslie’s love for romance began when she picked up a worn-out romance book from her local library. She started writing soon after, and as they say, the rest was history. She now resides in a cozy cottage on the British coast, enjoying long walks with her two Dalmatians, George and Fergie.
She LOVES reader feedback, and if you have any comments, don’t hesitate to contact her!
First of all bargaining to be his girlfriend in exchange for being considered for a promotion she's the most qualified candidate for is at minimum sexual harassment, more likely sexual discrimination and pretty much makes me dislike him from the get go.
He ignores her, holds her back from promotions she deserves for his own personal gain, doesn't even have the care for her to send his own flowers and expects her to tumble into bed with him regardless while he continues to treat her like crap outside of the bedroom. Definitely not my idea prince charming.
Honestly, the "hero" of the story has all the characteristics of what is normally the bad breakup before the leading lady meets the hero of the romance novel.
The guy is a jerk and Rosalie deserves better. Being attractive with a large bank account isn't what make a romantic hero. The poor guy struggling to pay his bills who might have a receding hairline and a beer gut, but listens to your every word and does his best to help you achieve your dreams and consider your feelings in every decision he makes is a hell of a lot more attractive than a rich guy who basically treats you like a possession to have sex with and make him look good.
Romance, real romance, is about what's inside not all those external shallow things like looks and money and North completely missed that point with this story.
Being the fake girlfriend for your boss............What can go wrong???
The Billionaire’s Pregnant Assistant is a great start to a the new series by Leslie North of the McClellan brothers, who are billionaires. This book is the story of Connor and Rosalie. Connor is the CEO of McClellan Technology Group and is smart and very personable. But he has one major issue - he cannot remember the names of his client's. Rosalie is feisty, smart, organized and keeps things running for Connor. She also is able to cover for him when he messes up with names so he has come to rely upon her a lot. He also takes it for granted that she will pose as his girlfriend when meeting important clients or potential clients. He needs her again but she has a much different attitude towards him than she used to and is not willing to play his fake anything. It seems the last time they did this they ended up between the sheets and the next morning he acted like nothing had happened. Plus add in the fact that she was left with a parting gift in the form of being pregnant, which she did not tell him as she figured he did not want her. He now has some decisions to make and Rosalie is not going to make it easy for him. Does he want to get married and be a father? Will she want him or not?
Leslie North has once again written and fun, entertaining, engaging and interesting story with great characters. I look forward to reading the other books in this series.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
The Billionaire’s Pregnant Assistant (McClellan Billionaires #1) by: Leslie North
Mixing business with pleasure has naughty results. The Billionaire's Pregnant Assistant is tad obvious when it comes to the plot, but Connor and Rosalie don't let that stop the electricity that radiates from their attraction. North is master at writing delicious romance.
Not giving stars because some of this is that this a trope/set-up I don’t tend to like as much as others. Wanted to note in goodreads that I read this.
I’ve read and really enjoyed other books by Leslie North - but this did not work for me at all. Connor is single-minded, self-centered, and pretty much an ass. Rosalie puts up with his crap for way too long. When she *finally* gets around to standing up for herself and quits (him & the job) - she relents a hot second later because of his single apology and some flowers. Then *boom* proposal accepted. The end. It felt like Rosalie was nothing more than another business deal Connor had to win, just for the sake of winning.
I think what was so disappointing was that I really liked North’s other books because, despite being short, they felt like complete/coherent stories. This felt like rough parts of a story often missing explanation/motivation for behaviors even being alternating POVs. 😕
No me gusta dar malas reseñas 😩.
This was a great story. It was well written and fast paced. The chemistry between the characters was sizzling hot. This book has everything you need to keep you turning pages hot sexy men, steamy scenes and some conflict thrown in. I cannot wait for what this author writes next.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Typical fake relationship between the billionaire boss, Conner, and his Assistant, Rosalie. Their one night affair ended in a pregnancy. Apparently, Rosalie had been in love with Conner for years but he wasn't aware of her until the one night affair. He knew then that he loved her and was overjoyed with him becoming a father. However, his treatment of her didn't change. Both characters were rather flat with little backstory. The plot was thin and overused. There was no real sexual tension but they couldn't keep their hands off of each other. I never felt any chemistry and the sex was wham bam for both of them. The book bordered on boring and was difficult to finish. The blurb was far more interesting than the book.
It's a shame, for with more character development and chemistry, this could have been a pretty good contemporary romance.
Connor McClellan and Rosalie Bridges make an awesome team. She makes him look good with clients, often posing as his girlfriend. One celebratory night they cross the line and when she receives a lackluster flower arrangement and note, she’s just a bit over it. But Connor isn’t. Unaware that his intention of sending a romantic note and dozens of red roses went woefully awry, he swoops into town to close the deal that once got away and Rosalie. Add to this o her sudden discovery that she’s pregnant with his child. She agrees to help him as an audition for a promotion while he agrees to audition to be her real boyfriend. But will the famous focus on the deal that has made him his fortune be the undoing of their burgeoning relationship?
Billionaire Conner McClellan has a single-minded focus that has brought him from a poor childhood raised single mindedly and handedly by his mother, to that billionaire status. The secret to his success? Rosalie Bridges, his beautiful assistant and frequent "date" to business meetings to smooth his edges. When one night of passion leads to an unexpected pregnancy, will Conner be able to shift his hyper focus from work to include Rosalie and their future child and give them both the attention they deserve?
Like all Leslie North stories, this one is on the short side, a perfect novella-style quick read with some character development but not enough to be a full novel. Great if you're looking for a quick read!

4.5 stars. This was a really fun, cute, and sexy read. The character's chemistry was so good and I loved the fact that Connor was so on board with Rosalie's pregnancy right from the start. He doesn't get spooked, he wants it, and he wants the relationship. I also liked that even though Rosalie has been in love with Connor for years, she does stand up to him and doesn't just fall to his whims. She does what's best for her. Both characters had some flaws, but they worked through them. Really enjoyed this one.
This was given in a group as a recommended read. I have read Leslie Both and liked her books, I was just expecting something different. Was a good read and enjoyed the story, I would have !liked it if she was stronger. Conner was really dense and missed way too many signals.
This book was a good read. The story was well written & storyline great. The characters keep you guessing who will win out in their clashes.Rosiland is fighting for recognition from her boss. The book is sexy, exciting & you will not be able to put it down.
An entertaining romance with a barely likable main character paired up with a very likable strong female counterpart. As always with North's books, the editing is clean, the plot well thought out, and the romance spicy. She never disappoints.
I read this in one sitting and the one thing that was bothering me not only finally got addressed. But I was incredibly happy with the resolution. Looking forward to more.
Awesome read. It had me from beginning to end. Connor and Rosalie were a great team. She always made him look good. They had chemistry in and out the office.
Connor has always put his focus on success and winning. Rosalie makes him reconsidered what is actually important. He realizes family is what's important.
