The most excellent book I have come across to explain the hospital to young people. Maybe even some adults.
I’ve spent a lot of time in medical facilities especially as an adult, it’s nice to see cafe staff, laundry and cleaners are recognized as part of the healing team.
Thoughtful illustrations and information layout.
Includes a Glossary and Index at the back.

This is one of the best children’s books I have ever read about the hospital and/or going to the doctors. The author has managed to capture every detail that would matter to children and families. Her approach to explaining holistic care to children is amazing. I love that her idea of representative spans all races, religions, and also disciplines. The author didn’t leave any hospital heros out of her inside story. Children and parents alike can certainly know what to expect from this beautifully written and equally beautifully illustrated book! This book should easily be in every children’s hospital and pediatrician’s office across America! This pediatric Social Worker loves this for children and plans to share it with every child who needs this inside look to normalize their experience! I will also read it to my grandson! Happy Reading!!

Perfect book to explain to kids what happens at hospitals and who works in them. It doesn't leave out the cafeteria staff, lab techs, housekeeping and laundry staff who often get missed in books like these but are integral in making a hospital run.

Excellent book about the hospital, with so many details sharing about many jobs that keep things running including the areas that are often hidden like the food service, labs, and laundry. As a pediatrician and former teacher, I was impressed with the explanations for new words, perfect for kids but not shying away from building new vocabulary either. The pictures are captivating with lots to look at. My only complaint is that my daughter doesn’t want to read anything else… so maybe it’s TOO good!

It’s here!! This incredibly book has been worth the wait. As a former teacher, books that teach kids with words and pictures are so valuable. This book has incredibly inclusive text and visuals to help kids, or anyone, understand what goes on in a hospital which may spark their interest and alleviate fears.

Explains different parts of the hospital and who people might see there, while following several kids and grownups and their experiences.
I really liked the flow of this book, and I can see how it would be really helpful to kids to know more--especially kids who might have to go regularly.
Nice diversity represented too, for doctors, nurses, and hospital staff.

This nonfiction book explains everything about hospitals: the staff and their jobs, the machines, the tools, the departments, all in a way that a child can understand. The pictures are extremely engaging and informative, working seamlessly with the text to create the best environment for learning. It would be perfect for a community workers or community buildings display.

Includes all staff from the hospital- from nurses, doctors, phlebotomists, kitchen staff, laundry staff, technicians, and more. Told in the view of a single day at a busy hospital, this is a great story full of diverse people. Kids will feel well-informed after reading this book.
