January 16, 2025This book is totally ridiculous and I enjoyed every moment. It's a basic fantasy story of a group of orcs attacking a human castle and enslaving the humans. Only the story is 100% from the PoV of dogs. Also, one of the dogs breathes fire. Despite the potential for silliness, the story takes itself seriously. The dogs have fae visions, make noble sacrifices, and we get glimpses of dog spirituality/culture in this world.
