Jenna Ryan was born in Victoria, British Columbia. After long stints in different cities across Canada, she returned home to Vancouver Island where she has lived ever since. She has had thirty-one books published in the Harlequin Intrigue series. Her ideas come from real life, and she is helped in her writing by her sister Kathy.

She enjoys reading and is a big fan of women's fiction, psychological suspense and mystery novels. She also enjoys watching classic suspense movies. She loves strong heroines, heroes with character, romance stories and a good whodunit by the fire on a rainy night.

Her heritage is a blend of English and Irish — which is probably where the gift of blarney comes from. She is unmarried, but involved with a wonderful man. She also has a little white cat named Sheena.

Whenever she is not writing, she travels as much as time and finances will allow. After North America, Europe is her favorite continent to explore, because it was in those countries that many of the myths and legends she drew upon in her early years of writing were born.

Growing up, she considered various careers and dabbled in several of them, including, after university, the travel industry, tourism, sales and modeling. Work in the fashion industry in Toronto and Montreal gave her an interesting peek into various aspects of that world. She learned that where money, power and people come together, there will always be unpredictability — an element she feels is essential to a strong mystery. Add a healthy measure of personal conflict, an intriguing setting and a spicy romance into the mix, and you have the ingredients for what she believes to be the best of all possible stories — a great romantic suspense.

This was another great example of why Jenna Ryan is firmly cemented in the top spot of my favorite Harlequin author list. The woman just can't do no wrong (at least in my opinion), and this book was yet another pearl of a story with an almost perfect mix of romance, suspense, and even some aspects of a regular thriller.

It had all mostly had to do with the atmosphere of five people stranded in a blizzard, cut away from the world by an avalanche and stalked by a deranged killer that strangles his victims, leaves them naked inside of a snow angel with a little snow globe beside their heads. He prefers blonds with Scandinavian descent and our heroine, architect Sasha Myer fits the bill just right.

Lucky for her she's trapped with the mayor, the sheriff and a Denver cold case detective on the killer's tail...And it wouldn't be a romantic suspense story if our heroine wouldn't fall for the sexy, monosyllabic-answer loving Denver cop. And he for her. Hard...And soon, despite the blizzard and frizzing temperatures outside, these two start generating some serious heat (even the owner of the lodge they're stranded in observed they were bound to set the bedsheets on fire). You just can't do better than that.

There are a few curve balls thrown here and there throughout the story, suspicious proven right, but not as right as they should've been, the bedsheets to get (almost) caught on fire, and the final twist packs quite a wallop. For someone who can (sometimes) spot the villain in a HI story almost from the very beginning, I can easily say that I didn't see that one coming at all.

I really enjoyed this story. The suspense, and action kept the book moving at a fast pace. The romance between Sasha, and Nick was sweet. I’m really glad the story gave time for a friendship to grow between Nick, and Sasha before the two ended up in each other’s arms or bed.

Sasha was hired as an architect to build a resort. She was three days late arriving into town. The night before she got there a lady that looked a lot like Sasha was murdered. Nick who is a detective has suspicions that Kristinana was murdered by a serial killer. The killer has always targeted blond hair, blue eyed ladies, and after he murders them he leaves a snow globe by the body. Nick attempts to talk Sasha into leaving town. Sasha’s work is important to her, and she won’t budge on the issue. Nick appoints himself as her protector. I really enjoyed the banter between Nick, and Sasha. The two picked on each other often.

An avalanche that slip down the mountain blocked the only road, trapping Nick, Sasha, the town sheriff, and a few other people in a blizzard. The found shelter in a really nice cabin. They feared they were trapped with the serial killer. I have to say the suspense was good, and drawn out, and I didn’t guess the villain until the villain was revealed.

This book would have been better if it had an epilogue. I would have enjoyed reading about Nick, and Sasha a few months later, or a year later. Other than that really good book. Action, suspense, and romance. What more could a girl ask for?

Although I’m a fan of Jenna Ryan; I cannot say I’m fond of “Cold Case Cowboy”. False leads and red herrings are mandatory in any mystery but this book had so many that it left this reader confused and annoyed. I’m looking forward to reading more of this author as I have enjoyed her work but this titles will not be one of my favs.
