Leigh Kelsey is the author of romance and reverse harem books for anyone with a soft spot for steely women and the tortured men who love them. No matter what stories she's writing - vampires or shifters or bad boys - they all share a common thread of love, heart, and action. She is the author of the Lili Kazana series, the Moonlight Inn series, the Dead Space stand alone, and the Blacktower Prison for Supernaturals series, plus many more books.
Cast From Heaven was a bit of a surprise for me. Sometimes KU books are a hit or miss with me and this was definitely a hit. Well, anything with demons and angels will be. Plus, Lucifer? Hello, I love the show on Netflix and he just seems to be an overall interesting character.
Besides that, we get tons of romance. I mean it felt like a hallmark or lifetime movie because things take off pretty quickly. Just like in those movies. Instead of saying I love after knowing one another for 2 hours, it at least took about a day before they did anything romantic. I ate it all up either way.
It also doesn't hurt that each and every character was interesting on their one. I was definitely invested in all of them and I'm wondering what is going to happen in the next book. Especially with all the betrayal and how this ended on a dreaded cliffhanger.
4.5 stars. So far, I’m really enjoying these characters. I love when the guys are all in, and we’re getting that with most of them..a couple are a little more reserved but I think they’re just as invested. I don’t know. Im kind of proud of Lili for the last scene. She was kicking major ass.
Hopefully I don’t lose interest in this next book. It’s kind of a pattern for me and trilogies🤷🏻♀️🤞🏻🤞🏻
I should have not have liked this as much as I did. So I'm giving it a big fat 4. But it's not going to be for everyone. It reminded me a lot of my beloved Briar series. In that the MC is a fragile little flower and the harem is an overprotective quartet.
Lili is the most naive, fragile, would give you cavities she's so sweet, character I have read since Fractured Heart. She's literally a little Angel
Ok half Angel, half Demon really.
She's blind-sighted and cast from heaven which leaves her broken body and spirit, the poor little naive dove. Taken in by Lucifer and his 3 hellhounds they have a major insta-love/over protectiveness towards her. It was hard to wrap my head around Lucifer and demons being the lovey dovey type but I went with it. There really wasn't much reason for them to fall in love with her so quickly apart from her needed their acceptance. Even after being betrayed by her boyfriend she's so starved for affection she can't resit their cuddling ways.
"she couldn’t help herself. Like a moth to a flame, Lili yearned for compassion, for the caring touches and the way he handled her, never hesitating to offer physical comfort."
It sounds mushy but it made me a little mushy inside, all the romantic cuddling and sweet words from the ruler of hell. After giving "LUV Acadmey" a ridiculous 1 star this is a little hypocritical of me loving this kind of fluff and not that one. But I never said I'm right just I like what I like, and I like this. There was an actual plot aside from the fawning over Lili and the ending was a cliffhanger leaving me waiting for more. Lili did have her moments and there was a bit of action in and out of the bedroom.
I think we'll see a stronger more powerful Lili to come
This little bit of instalove with a broken heroine in need of healing was just what I needed right now.
This was a cute start to the trilogy and it really started with a bang. I like that the setting was hell and that one of her harem is the only and only Lucifer; a real sweetie if I do say so myself! How cool that three brothers, the other part of her harem and part of Lucifers posse, actually join together to form Cerberus. 😯 I think the storyline is very interesting with the heroine being sent to spy in hell and instead ending up with the very man she’s sent to spy on and in turn sets to help him discover the mystery behind missing souls, breaches and defectors. As for the romance I wouldn’t say this book is medium burn because it really took no time at all, like a day for the heroine to be hurt but still ready to move on. After what happened to her and how she was betrayed I expected a little more hesitation on her part. She’s constantly reminding herself about trusting to soon and giving away her heart yet that’s exactly what she’s doing 🤷🏼♀️ The end was a bit of a cliffy and I can’t wait to see where it will go. Her men are not going to be happy at all with the actions of the heroine and I have a feeling they are about to set the heavens on fire.
Meh. This book was just okay for me. I found the "romance" too fast and unbelievable which took me out of the story. I couldn't believe Lucifer would talk about ruling with her at his side when they'd just met. It was just too fast. There's also the fact that the FMC's voice was too childish for my taste and I didn't really like her. She annoyed me most of the time lol. The overall plot and idea behind this book is interesting but the execution didn't make me fall in love with this reverse harem story. This was my first rh in a long time and I'm a bit disappointed but I'm still excited to find a new favorite. It just won't be this one. If I end up reading book 2 & 3, it's probably because I managed to get to all my other books before and that I wanted those buddy read points for a challenge ;) We'll see!
I actually loved the concept and even the irony of Hell being the better place over the coldness of Heaven. The characters were intriguing and I loved Lucifer. My man issue with the book was that I couldn't connect with any of them. Everything was too rushed to enjoy them getting to know one another. The meet cute type discussions were wrapped up in a summarized paragraph. She basically only interacted with Russ and Bernard a handful of times and now has this connection. The most character relationship we say was Lili and Gabriel. Also after a while Lili irritated me. I understand she is still healing from the betrayal and falling, but she is fierce one moment then literally in the next a useless, naive little girl. She didn't really grow in this book. I will say it was interesting enough for me to want to read the next book- especially after the cliffhanger, but I hope it has more to offer than the 1st book. Overall, nice read, but ultimately wanted MORE.
From the cover, synopsis, and premise, this seems like a lot of other Kindle Unlimited books. But I'm glad I took a chance on this one (for a contest prompt and a buddy read), because Cast from Heaven is really good. Half-angel, half-demon Lili is in love with the archangel Gabriel, so she's willing to be his spy in Hell, until he tears off her wings (nearly killing her) and throws her out of heaven. In Hell, she's rescued by Lucifer himself, and three of his most trusted subordinates -- Cerny, Russ, and Bernard. They care for her and heal the trauma the angels caused, leaving her torn between her original heavenly home and her newfound home in Hell.
I'd love to find out more about the mythology of this world, since it combines the Greek gods with archangels and demons. It's an interesting combo, and the characters Kelsey has created are intriguing, too. I like Lili, and her emotions at being betrayed by the man she loves feel very real. While I think there could be more explanation about the types of demons and organization structure in hell (which makes parts a bit confusion), hopefully it will come in the rest of the series (where the books get much longer).
Cast From Heaven is like that overtly sweet chocolate cake I like to eat during PMS that otherwise tastes disgusting on any other ordinary day. So if you aren't in the fluff mood then you are obviously going to hate this fluff.
There isn't much substance either in the plot or the characters. It's just four guys being overprotective over a fragile heroine without any buildup. Those four guys just happen to be Lucifer and the PNR version of Cerberus in three dudes. I just had a hard time accepting these guys out of their stereotypical image into a bunch of empathetic softies the book shows me. It ends up feeling too unbalanced and very goody-good for things happening in hell. Seeing Lucifer or Cerberus fight scenes instead of skipping or glossing over that action could have helped.
Lili is not everyone's cup of tea. She is fragile, very soft and everything you might dislike if you like those "bold and badass" stereotypes of this genre. The thing is, she never tries to bullshit me. Her character doesn't keep pretending to be something you can clearly see she is not. Lili stays consistent with her fragility.
The paper thin plot holds no interest for me to feel like I have to continue with the next book. The big dump of special snowflake in the end just made me roll my eyes. Like she wasn't enough of that already.
Ever since I joined a Reverse Harem reading group on Facebook about a week ago, this entire new world has opened up for me and I can't believe that I've never found it before. Me, the girl who made endless lists of boys she'd daydream off. Me, the girl who had a hard time choosing which of those boys she liked most. Me, the girl who thinks that "both is good" or "all is good" is a valid answer to a love triangle.
One of the books posted in this group was this book and it was love at first sight. The blurb already convinced me that this was totally gonna be my thing, but the book itself did that even more. Lili, half angel and half demon, is an amazing character. She's both badass and innocent, sweet and mean, strong and weak. She can protect and needs protection. She can love and needs love. She's the best of both worlds and I liked her instantly.
I also really love the way Heaven, Hell and the war between them is portrayed in this book. The book uses elements of different religions. There are archangels, demons, there's Lucifer, but there are also Greek Gods. The descriptions of both Heaven and Hell are rich and I love how Kelsey plays with the expectations we have, sometimes living up to them and sometimes surprising us. The best element: The blurred lines between good and evil.
Apart from that, this story also had a strong plot. Of course, there are mature scenes in this book and there is a relationship blooming, but there is also a story and there's a lot of focus on the story. And in the finale, when a lot of elements from this book come together and lead to a heartbreaking cliffhanger, I was on the edge of my seat and I just couldn't stop reading anymore.
I totally want to read the rest of the story, because this first book had me hooked!
It has potential but it takes some getting used to and I need a family tree because this feels awkward.
Firstly multiple POVs which is always good and since this one is mainly focused on Lucifer, its nice to see the other three exist. Four guys. Lucifer and lets say the inseparable triplets Cerny, Russ and Bernard. Two of them feel like Insta-love, one is just there and the last is the not so meanie of the bunch so of course my favourite.
The first couple of chapters deal with abuse which is noted at the beginning of the book if you wish to skip that part and it was brutal. Lili is an innocent half demon half angel and it shows, falling for lies and easily being betrayed. She's a mix of fragile, defiant and strong.
The story itself has a mix of greek gods, demons and angels. Lucifer is a cuddler/coddler and does feel like a light May-December Romance. If you're expecting big bad and domineering, you're going to be disappointed. The ending was pretty much as expected. Its a hurt/comfort story with a war theme, violence, sex, betrayal and its very fast.
Overall an enjoyable story. I loved the concept of reversed good and evil of heaven and hell. However, Lili did irritate me a bit and I wanted more of her connection with her men. It felt a bit rushed, but definitely continuing with the next book.
This book is about Liliana an angel. Liliana is actually a 'mixed-species' angel and as such is looked down upon. Her lover is a senior type angel and she feels lucky to be loved by him. Because she feels this way she is easily manipulated into being a spy for her lover in hell. She quickly learns that her lover was just using her and doesn't care for her well being at all, in fact he would be quite happy for her to not survive the mission she is totally untrained for.
This book has left me conflicted about my opinion. On one hand the story is quite good and the idea is not bad, but on the other hand it’s got some flaws in the execution.
My main problem is that Liliana is pretty weak. She’s looking for affection from anyone and everyone and seems to have all the self protection of a sleepy kitten.
I also didn’t like that she was left alone so much, with no support, nothing to occupy her and then dragged into dangerous situations with no training by people who supposedly cared for her. It meant that I didn’t believe the emotions that were supposed to be there.
Essentially, I didn’t really connect with the characters very much and felt that the plot needed more thought and tightening up.
First of all, this book is probably not for you if:
• You subscribe to any religious point of view and have expectations about religion of this book. This book draws upon many religious traditions, not just the Judeo-Christian-Islamic belief system.
• You object to explicit language or sexual scenes, or have a problem with the reverse harem concept (one woman with multiple committed male partners).
TW: There is some abuse by a partner at the very beginning of the book. Be sure to read the author's preface for more information.
There is a "cliff-hanger" ending, and this is written in 3rd person.
The writing is well done and engaging, although the first chapter or two is tough to get through if you have low tolerance for infatuated/whiney girls.
The pacing is good, and never feels particularly rushed, dragging, or forced. I came to care about the characters, and see them for who they are—both the good and the bad. This book challenges us to think for ourselves about what is ethical and humane rather than turning to a rigid legalistic “commandments” approach.
The following is a plot summary which I try to keep general, but may contain mini-spoilers, so read further at your own risk. :)
Lili (Liliana Kazana) is a half-angel, half-demon raised in Heaven, where she has been taught that everyone in Hell is evil (much the same as today’s extreme fundamentalist religious in America ) and that Hell wants to unleash the worst of it’s demons on Earth. We also discover that any “half-breed” children are abominations, and are killed so as not to taint Heaven. Her father, the archangel Michael, saves her from this fate but is fundamentally absent from her life, both physically and emotionally.
The archangel Gabriel is Lili’s first love, and as such attempts to excuse his emotional coldness and brutality during sex. Gabriel asks Lili if she is willing to help him spy on Hell and report back to him. He promises it will only be for a few hours, and assures her that he will pull her out if she is in any danger, and Lili agrees. The following day, Gabriel cruelly tells Lili that her very existence is the crime for which she must be cast out. Gabriel, along with Archangel Raphael and an administrator angel Ilaian, talk casually and laughing as Lili is betrayed quite painfully (both physically and emotionally) and cast from Heaven.
Lili falls to Earth, and is terribly hurt and unconscious. She is found by Cerney, one of the three guardians of Hell, and he attempts to heal her. In spite of the belief that Lili may very well be a spy, Lucifer instructs Cerney to bring her to him. When Lili awakes, she realizes that she is in Hell (only Lucifer and his lieutenants have red eyes), at the mercy of a very powerful Demon, and is very afraid because of the propaganda she has been taught her whole life. She mistrusts the care and compassion that is provided to her.
Lili begins to re-evaluate what she sees compared to what she’s been taught (“Lili’s head ached trying to understand; everything was in reverse.”) , to recognize the attraction she has to Lucifer and three of his warrior-guardians of Hell, and process her self-doubt and bitterness at Gabriel’s betrayal. She begins to ask for what she wants/needs, and in so doing begins to empower herself. Gabriel is able to invade Lili’s dreams and demand a report about what she has discovered, which causes distress and threatens her growing self-confidence. Her empowerment allows her to make suggestions and take a leadership role as she, Lucifer, Cerney, Russ and Bernard (the three warrior-guardians of Hell, who happen to be brothers) attempt to close the current rifts to Hell and prevent new rifts. The rift is allowing demons to attack people on Earth and ramp up hostilities between Hell and Heaven.
There is more to the adventures than I have documented here, so don't think you know everything about the book. That having been said--absolutely get this book. :)
~~ I was given an advanced readers copy of this book for an honest review. ~~
Cast from Hell is a medium-burn reverse harem paranormal romance about a young angel who is betrayed by the man she thought she loved. Her wings are cut from her and she is shoved from Heaven by him and his cronies. She had agreed to help him with a mission that would have been dangerous for him, but what she never expected was his betrayal and then to find comfort and real love with the demons of Hell who rescue her after her forced fall. Cast from Heaven is the first book that I have read by Leigh Kelsey and I thoroughly enjoyed this story. The author gives me a soft and naïve angel named Lili. I’ve had soft and naïve characters before, but let me tell you Lili is truly naïve. The minute I read her experiences with Gabriel and how he treats her I was shocked. It is obvious that he was essentially her first in everything so she doesn’t know that she deserves so much better than what scraps he threw her way. She is half angel half demon and sadly she is looked down on because of her heritage. But trust me when I say this… there is a method behind all this madness. So when she encounters the demons after her forced fall, I’m happy that they show her the flip side of everything that she has experienced. They show her that love is gentle, love is kind, and love is…loving. Granted yes, they don’t know each other well, but that’s why it’s a medium- burn. We get some fun while Lili learns the truth and grows to love these guys. The author does an excellent job with this story in my opinion. We get some predictable situations, but the author does a great job throwing in a few surprises. I will admit that I raised my eyebrows more than a couple of times when certain situations arose. I really wasn’t expecting so them so they totally hooked me further into the story and I eagerly devoured this book to get more. There isn’t much that I don’t like about this book. The book has been well-edited overall, but there were a couple of minor errors that managed to slip through, but they aren’t serious enough or numerous enough to detract or distract from the overall storyline. For those who don’t like cliffhangers…sorry, but there is one. It is not a major one, but it’s one that will tug at your heart nonetheless. I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. The characters are well done, there aren’t any nasty bumps or lags in the storyline, and it comes together rather nicely. If you love a good paranormal romance novel and don’t mind a naïve character who is innocent, but not OVERLY innocent then this is a good book to grab up.
This is a pretty mid book. The first warnings of abuse from Gabriel to Liliana, I kind of thought it was going to be worse. In my opinion and maybe that's just because I read super dark books was super dark warnings. It really wasn't that dark in terms of what it was made out to be in the pre-warning. Not saying that any abuse is okay because that any abuse is atrocious. I'm just saying for what is warned versus what is actually written is two completely different things.
Now, obviously we're missing a lot terms of plot and why she is this beacon and why people want to go after her. And we learned towards the end that she is this middle ground weapon of balance. And obviously everyone's going to want to taunt her to their side. So I'm definitely interested in learning why she's this weapon of balance.
I'm curious why Lucifer and his demons like her so much it seems super sudden. I wonder if there's a reason for that or if it wasn't meant to play out like that. Cuz it kind of just feels like hey. Here's this angel demon half breed that fell onto our laps. We all want to screw her. And now we have feelings. Instead of probably what was supposed to be a buildup.
I mean it is only 60,000 words which is really nothing in terms of detail and like super world building and plot development. So I'm definitely excited to see what the next book has and I wonder who would be 5th person who's supposed to be in her harem is. Because right now we have Lucifer Cerny Russ and Bernard. So I'm definitely curious.
And also I think her dad Michael is super suspicious. I really wonder what happened to Lilith if it explained it that I completely glossed over it but I don't think it did. I don't know. He just seems so suspicious and not normal.
The world building is a little confusing because we have biblical angels and demons from Christianity and then we also have Greek and Roman mythology mixed in as well as other characters. I'm just kind of confused. I don't know if it becomes relevant or not.
I'm hoping the second book gets better because I don't want to have to DNF it if it doesn't.
Okay. So. I really wanted to like this book, because I was feeling needy for some fluff and everything. And the idea, while not terribly original, is a really nice one.
I just really can't get behind the execution. I just don't understand how this book hat more than 4 stars rating. I'm not even sure whether it was actually proof read. There are so many little mistakes. One or two are okay, not big deal, but they're all over.
"She fell into eyes the colour of pale topaz"
The same page, just a couple sentences further: "meeting those crystal blue eyes"
Maybe some of you aren't bothered. I'm triggered immensely. Things like this, especially in RH, just makes it seem like even the author isn't overly invested in knowing her characters. How am I supposed to get to know them, when they're all over the place?
Another thing about this book. Yes, we know Gabriel's gonna betray her. Yes, we know she's this naive sweet thing in the beginning. But dear God, the author didn't even TRY to make it somewhat believable.
I just feel like not a lot of effort was put into this. Really sorry but I don't even know, whether I'll finish this book. I certainly won't read the others.
Final addition:
What the ever-loving heck is with her times?? Have a sentence she's in simple present then she's suddenly in past progressive or simple past. I can't even.
I’m gonna start off by saying the storyline of this book sounds so good and I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book. Lili is betrayed by her manipulative ex boyfriend Gabriel and cast from Heaven to go spy in Hell for him. Broken and almost dead she is rescued by Lucifer and his Hellhounds. While in Hell she is recovering from her wings being severed (by the abusive ex boyfriend) and the emotional trauma she just endured. Lucifer, Cerny, Bernard and Russ (Cerberus) take care of her and protect her from Gabriel.
The storyline of this book is awesome and I loved reading it. The thing that really bugged me is that she went from being in love with Gabriel to wanting to be with the guys in a span of a couple of days it seemed like. Like girl chill, you just got out of a relationship where he ripped the wings from your back and threw you in Hell (take a breather). She also wasn’t trained at all to fight and she doesn’t know how to use her demon powers (she’s half demon half Angel) and then all of a sudden she’s just using demon powers with no training… I think if more was added to the story of her learning all this it would be so much better. Other than that this book was really fun to read and I can’t wait for the next one.
DNF. It started out good then once she fell to earth the the Desmond took her in it just got cheesy and annoying. She developed a distrust for everyone. Men in specific which is understandable. And she all like I can’t trust Lucifer and cerny and the others. Then proceededs to not really fuck then but does some things with Lucifer and cerny and then goes I can’t trust them. Ok fine. Then why do that. Not slut shaming or anything. It just seemed weird.
Also I expected Lucifer to me like hades. Grumpy and mean but actually a really nice guy. While the worlds sees the worse in him he’s actually a very decent person. But no. Lucifer is basically a golden retriever who was just randomly head over heels about lili. I lost interest in the story line half way through the book. It was ehh before but I just couldn’t continue with how she acted kinda hypocritically and how they portrayed Lucifer as a kind of happy go luck guy.
The actual story line seemed pretty good but the writing was poor in my opinion. I couldn’t keep going with it. It wasn’t worth it to me. Should have know it was going to be like this based off the terrible cover. But I was a tik tok video about the book and loved the whole betrayal, fallen angel, rh with demons.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
First of all, a warning: this book is not for the faint at heart, as it deals with issues of abuse. If you find this disturbing, then this story is not for you. That being said, "Cast from Heaven" is a wonderfully written story. Lili is a young angel, betrayed by the person she trusts and loves, her wings severed and cast from Heaven to the last place an angel wants to be: Hell. Still reeling from the betrayal, she finds help in the least likely persons: Lucifer and three demons. Nothing is as she thought. The good are bad, and the bad have more decency and compassion than she ever dreamed of!
I loved how Lili's character developed throughout the story. At first we see a young, impressionable, naive girl, who circumstances force to grow a backbone and take her life into her hands. We follow her emotional turmoil while she adjusts to circumstances, while never losing her true self. This is a slow burn RH, with a few hot and yet not explicit moments. The book ends in a cliffhanger, and a heartbreaking one! Oh, how I wish the next book was already here!
I tried, I really did but this is... Not good. I'll buy the FMC being naive in the beginning, stupid even. Hey actions age thought process age her down to maybe middle school which makes the "relationship" very uncomfortable. Anytime with common sense and who read the blurb could see where things were going. The next sequence makes even less sense - a grown man keeps referring to you by your mother's name?!?! Gross. She finally reached the point where she realizes she should rely on herself and immediately jumps into a new "relationship".
I had to wrap it up at that point because not only is the FMC a minor she's also a minor with no common sense. I'm not interested in her story although if she was replaced by an adult with sense it would be MUCH more interesting. Innocence can have a place in character development but the extreme display partnered with very adult actions doesn't make sense I'm this context. A regency novella would make more sense, but not a better book mind you, however I just couldn't finish this one and I cannot image this as a series.
***CONTENT WARNING: There's a very helpful warning for this given by the author, which I really appreciated, but I will reiterate it here. In the first few chapters, the heroine is manipulated and sexually abused by her boyfriend. In the moment, she thinks of him as being passionate and rough, but he's actually hurting her. There's also an on-page scene with the heroine getting her wings cut off. I closed this pretty early on, so I don't know any more specifics on what to be prepared for. ***
I liked the premise and I think I could've liked the Heroes, but the heroine just killed any enjoyment for me. Bottom line, she was annoying and I couldn't view her as being mature enough to have her be in a RH storyline with descriptive sex scenes. Even though I stopped pretty early on, I actually kept reading a little more with the hopes/expectation that she'd eventually mature, but I couldn't see past the fact that her character just didn't click with me.
This was definitely a must read! The FMC Lili was a more realistic character than many other books I’ve read. She struggles with the betrayal and realization of her abusive relationship and being trust into a world she has be lied to about her entire life. While many readers do not like a “weak” character, I found her growth and sweetness believable for an angel raised. The men in her harem were strong and sweet, a perfect combination to help Lili feel safe and challenge her. The background is an interesting twist on heaven and hell. I enjoyed the world building and descriptions. There was a good balance between building the settings and not droning on and on. I would place this as medium burn. A cliff hanger. An enjoyable and fast read with great potential for the next book.
I really loved Leigh’s book and can’t wait until able to read the next one. Reading cast from heaven kept me wanting more the whole time and I loved her perspectives of heaven and hell and all of the main characters, especially Lili, Lucifer, and the Cypherus brothers... I have to say I was a bit happy at the end that she got what she always wanted but sad that it meant her end to be in her new home where her heart really now desires...and I hope w the next book come her men coming to get her back, without risking a war or maybe Lili will save herself with her newfound powers and return back to them😍 I would definitely recommend this book and any others that Leigh has written as all her books/series are well written and always keep me wanting more
I also want to thank her personally for this amazing experience as I reviewed this book for her for her.
This book certainly turns conventional thinking on its head with regard to the archangel Gabriel and Lucifer. There is a complete role reversal in many ways because Lucifer is the good guy, and Gabriel is the bad. From that point of view, it should probably carry a content warning for staunch Christians because strong believers might not like this book.
I enjoyed the storyline and how Lili builds a relationship with the people in Hell and also a life there. At the same time, she has found out that she is the Balance and has an important role to play in mediating between Heaven, Hell, and Earth and stopping all-out war. If you put any pre-conceptions aside you will find this an enjoyable read. Note that it isn't really a standalone book as the story continues into the next book in the series.
Life for Lili (the main female character) is mainly Black & White. Devils are bad & Angels are good except nothing is what it seems. Lili ends up trusting the wrong person (or maybe not?) and she ends up losing her wings & landing slap bang in Hell. Literally! Right into the arms of Lucifer himself, Cerny, Russ & Bernard. All of which to her astonishment want to help her in more ways than one. As you can imagine with a medium burn RH book. Absolutely loved this book. The characters are brilliant. Lucifer & the guys are smoking hot!! Lili starts out as a naive, mis-guided girl & ends up becoming a Strong willed, Loving woman by the end of the book. A great read. Dying to find what happens in the next book
Really really good! I'm not a big Angel reader but this book right here was so freaking amazing. I loved this unique storyline of heaven and hell having the same job, to keep the mortal world safe yet of course on both sides we have bad guys. I loved our main heroine! She was so strong and yet so vulnerable, this author has great balance on creating lili, in no way do you feel she is stupid for what has happened to her, you feel her anger, her hurt, her sadness. You understand her wanting to be held, adored, loved and cherished. What I loved is that with all that being said she was far from needy, she tried hard to prove she was strong, and I love a strong yet not strong character. this read is Fast, yet I highly recommend it.
The kind of writing wasn't my style and it was really confusing, when you are writing a POV it should be written in first person, and that didn't happen here.. Really confusing...
When I was at page 82 I utterly confused, like colored me disgusted because I swear to you I kept reading through the beginning that Liliana was the daughter of Lilith and Lucifer, swear to you, and when I read that they were lusting each other I was "YISUS WHAT THE ACTUAL EFF I'M READING?" I mean I'm so into cliterature but this is something else... Then I had to make sure... And it said Michael....
I don't think I will read the next one... But at least I will see what should I read next from this author
I really didn’t enjoy this book. I think the plot had potential to be really good and interesting, but it just wasn’t executed properly. I found the FMC childish, naive, gullible and all around annoying. She wanted to go on missions when she had no use of her powers or the ability to fight, even though the missions were dangerous. I don’t understand how she also fell with four men in less than a week after being IN LOVE with another for years. Also, I feel like the trigger warning at the beginning was a little exaggerated for ME, but everyone’s triggers are different. Just with the way the warning was issued, I went into the book expecting and anticipating worse, but it wasn’t compared to other books I’ve read in the past. I won’t be finishing the series.

I really enjoyed the book and look forward to reading more. It is an interesting story with twists you don't expect and not your normal view of angels and demons.
I honestly did not like the character of Lili at the beginning of this story. She was naive, childish, and helpless, but as the story progresses she starts to find herself and her strength. With the help of Lucifer, Cerny, Russ, and Bernard she becomes quite the FMH. I liked Cerny’s immediate protectiveness. Cerberus - adored! Very surprising character (in a good way!). The Hell stallions were super fun. I can't wait for the next book to see what happens next!
idk if it’s just the kindle unlimited version but this book is written in third person but the author would switch to using “i” and “we” randomly. some of it was too unrealistic imo (yes i am aware that this is a fantasy book where literally anything could happen but i really don’t think the literal devil would be so warm to her so soon or allow her to take over an interrogation (? idk what to call it) within like two days of her being there). didn’t like that the whole story took place over like two weeks. also not the biggest fan of the insta-love. absolutely hated lili like she’s childish and honestly a dumbass.
