This is the perfect book to read in anticipation of the 800th anniversary of the death of St. Francis on October 4 of 2026. It is written by a contemporary of St. Francis, and one of his own monks. Br. Thomas of Celano gives a fascinating account of the life of the saint and permeates his work with a spirit of piety and faith.
