My son and daughter both adore Ladybug Girl. This book explores different things that Ladybug girl decides to dress up as. Great, straight forward illustrations that make recognition easy and labeling fun. The story is perfect for encouraging imaginative play.

Very simple little board book. Disappointing in that there is no new content. If you've read Ladybug Girl, you've all ready seen all the illustrations, and the text is very basic.

In this book, Lulu dresses up as several different things. I like this book because it highlights the idea that girls can be more than just fairy princesses. For example, Lulu can be a brave astronaut. To the audience, it gives them hope that they can be whatever they want to be. However, I found this book to be simply sitting on the surface. It didn't dive into anything that could be used as means of discussion. Therefore, I would only recommend this book for a beginner reader's bookshelf. I don't think this book would be a good book to read aloud to the class. Even though I am not the intended audience, some children might find joy in this. It is all up to the reader.

Ladybug Girl Dresses Up! by David Soman and Jacky Davis is a picture book about the different ways Lulu likes to dress up. She dresses up like a pirate, a fairy princess, a tiger, an astronaut, and a spy. With each of these outfits, she adopts a particular characteristic or trait that goes with the outfit. At the end, she dresses up in her favorite outfit, that of Ladybug Girl. Lulu likes Ladybug Girl the best because Ladybug Girl “can do anything.” Thematically, the story is about exploring and embracing identity. Lulu’s imagination is a highly expressive arena in which she can literally try on and connect to things. In each outfit, Lulu finds a part of herself, independent of any specifically traditional gender roles. Personally, when I was a little girl I never knew what I wanted to do or be, and I often found playing dressup to be an incredible experience of temporarily pretending to be and do anything. Also, the fact that at the end of the book, Lulu found the most joy in being the character that can “Do Anything” is such an empowering message of self acceptance. I highly recommend this book to all young children because it plainly and clearly sends the message that kids can be whatever they want to be, but being themselves is just as important.

This perky board book is sure to inspire dress-up ideas for little girls. Lulu loves to play dress up. The pictures show what Lulu dresses up as, while the text explains what Lulu does in each costume. What disappointing about this board book, though, is the lack of detail in the images. There could have been more done besides just having Lulu in her outfit, standing there. When she was a tiger, why not show her acting like a tiger? The cover had a pop-out image that babies could grab onto, which was a nice touch. This book is recommended as an additional purchase if you need books about dress-up for readers ages 1-3 years old.

Cute board book in the Ladybug Girl series by David Soman and Jacky Davis. In this very short simple story, Ladybug Girl enjoys dressing up in different costumes.

This story encourages creativity and imagination with dress up clothes and would be appropriate for toddlers.

Borrowed this board book from the library, and my 2.5 year old can't get enough of it. She loves to re-create the characters that Lulu dresses up as. She learned all the words from it right off the bat - including astronaut. I'm going to have to buy our own copy. I'm giving it five stars due to the intensity with which my child loves the book. The drawings are very cute, and it's very simple and short.

This is a picture book and it is intended for the readers of the nursery age group. This book is about a girl named Lulu who likes to play dress-up. This book could be use around Halloween to give children ideas of costumes or you can make it interactive by having the children dress-up like the characters in the story. The book would appeal to children who enjoy playing dress-up. The print is a nice size and the picture are colorful.

We love Ladybug Girl in our house but I'm confused why this is in board book format (unless just because the text is brief?). The other books have been picture books and the content is better for preschool than infant/toddler. That being said, we loved this title just as we loved the others. Ladybug Girl dresses up as a myriad of characters, always spunky.

This is for the very little ones, a board book that changes costumes, very easily. Kidlestts, as I call them will have a wonderful time learning new words and new things every time they change the clothes. It may be too boring for those over the age of 2 or 3, but it's just adorable. This would be a great introduction to the series.

This is a simple little board book most appropriate to 3-4 year olds.
I gave it 3.5 stars really as it is about a little girl dressing up and does have a fairy but also had a pirate, a tiger and an astronaut. I like it showing strong female non-typical dressups. It was short and sweet. And I would like to know (as would my daughter) why ladybugs can do anything - and why not everything?!

An addition to a Ladybug Girl series, Ladybug Girl Dresses Up! is a lovely addition with sweet illustrations. Ladybug girl loves dressing up and pretending to be different animals, but her favorite thing to be is herself.

A great read aloud that lends itself to fun interaction with young readers.

13 months - borrowed from the library, a very cute book and you really enjoyed it. We could sign all the things Lulu dressed up as which made it more fun. Dadda picked up a copy at 21 months for you library.

Cady has me read this book almost every night. She loves Ladybug Girl and her dog, Bingo, who looks a lot like our Chief. She loves to do the "voices" for each costume; and I find it funny that we call Cady Cadybug :)

We've taken this one out of the library a few times. Ladybug Girl is a liked character, but the picture books are still quite long for Natalie, and out of the question at bed time. These give us Ladybug Girl in very manageable doses.

Lulu likes playing dress-up. Whether she is a fierce pirate girl, a beautiful princess or a ferocious lion, she is always a little cutie. But, among all the wonderful things she dresses up as, she always prefers being "Ladybug Girl" more than anything else.

Both of my children enjoyed this tale of Ladybug Girl. My daughter's nickname is Ladybug and I was very happy to discover this series. My children are still young for dress up on their own, but they love to listen to stories.

I like Ladybug Girl more and more with each book I read. This is a fun book, especially if your little ones like to play dress up, and mine sure do. Cute illustrations and a cute story. My 3 & 5 year old love this book.

My daughter immediately smiled at the cover of this book, so I got it for her since it was significantly cheaper than the 'older kids' version. She loves to look at the pictures of LuLu.

I read this book for www.wegivebooks.com, an organization driven toward the promotion of children's literacy. For every ebook that is read on the website, a physical book is donated to a child.
