This book is fabulously funny: Lionel experiments with different hairstyles (Octopus hair with the requisite eight plaits; wave hair with thanks to Hokusai) and you can too. Interactive and perfect for bedtime stories, this book is a total winner.

Very clever and lots of fun. There is an interactive component as the clever holes in each pages allow the reader to try out the various wacky hairstyles for themselves! The illustrations are also quite intricate; there are lots of bonus little surprises in the detail.

Oh my God. It's so hilarious 😂. The Lion wants to go to the party, thus he comes to a hairdresser to have a new hairstyle. The hairstyles indeed are out of this world. From the style of ice cream hair, wave hair, octopus hair, noodle hair, rocket hair, and star hair xD I was utterly surprised. How could the writer think such hairstyles? 😂

Title: What’s Wrong With My Hair
Author: Satoshi Kitamura
Date of Publication: 2007
Genre: Picture Book
Annotations: This book is about a Lion named Lionel. Lionel has a party to go to and needs a new hair do. What comes next? We’ll see!

It was the picture on the cover page that got my attention with this book. The pictures are so cute and well done! Very colorful! I can see how this book can be entertaining for children. It can also help children relate to expression/emotions and how they feel about looking good. This book can also help children understand caption bubbles.

Discussion and Comprehension Questions for children:
How do you think Lionel feels about going to a party?
How do you think Lionel feels when the barber starts styling his hair? How can you tell?
What are some things you do to get ready for a party or when you go out?

This cute, funny novelty board book features a large oval cutout in the center of each page, so kids can put their own face in and "try on" each of the lion's crazy hairdos. One-note, yes, but good for some giggles and fun photo-ops.

Gimmicky book (child can put his/her face in the masks at the beginning and end of the book). I particularly liked the octopus and tsunami hairstyles, as my hair is sometimes prone to the same look. Reminiscent of "Dandelion" by Don Freeman.

I thought this was a cute book for children to read. It is about a lion who is trying to find the right hair style. This would be a great book to read to young children.

Un León muy divertido con una melena rebelde y un cuento perforado para que los pequeños introduzcan su carita y se peinen como él, desde sopa de fideo, hasta con olas de mar.
