For Those who love WW2 warbirds and their contribution in the war, this is a great book to learn more about their roles and significance. For essentially every aircraft in the book it goes through the design, testing, combat, and occasionally Post war service. The only thing I could be disappointed about with this book is that there are quite a few warbirds that were left out of the book (TBD Devastator, O2SU Kingfisher, Avro Anson, and many more...). Besides that, the book is a very informative and interesting read I would suggest to all Warbird enthusiasts and fans.
Comprehensive indeed! Definitely a good one for my shelf. 512 pages of Data, Pictures, and stories. I like the extra stories. I wish each plane had a concise "Janes" style spec list. About 105 planes made this book - all the major planes from WW II (Fighters, Bombers, Seaplanes, etc.)
A nice resource if this is a subject your interested in but I have some quibbles about the amount of space some planes got and some omissions. I was genuinely surprised there was no entry at all for the Kingfisher scout plane, maybe I'm biased because I think the one on the USS North Carolina is really cool.
