Ester has been driving as a chauffeur on the island for years she started her own business. She's been driving Marshall for years to and from work secretly crushing after him from a distance but never acting on it. She knows how he likes his coffee and his love of puzzle books. When a thoughtful birthday gift opens Marshall's eyes to the woman who has been driving him for years and maybe she's not just his driver anymore.
I love Esther right from the start she's adorable this quirky character you can't help connecting with and her love interest Marshall just works perfectly for her. I like the chemistry between the two it works so well. I love that we are intertwined with Fisher and Stacey from the prior book.
I actually dove right into this one after finishing the prior book it was another sweet clean romance. This is my second book by the author and it's another beautifully written story. I finished this one in just a few short hours it was hard to put down. I enjoyed the authors writing style it's smooth and she's created a quick fast packed novel. I can't wait to read the next book and see which girl from the Womans Beach Club is going to find love next.
Another quick, cute, happy read. I have to just say, trust issues are a real thing! It also seems to be a common theme in these billionaire books I've been reading. You want someone to like you for you and not for your money, good looks, or what they can get from you. In the story of Esther and Marshall, the theme is just that. Along with a handful of other things too scattered throughout! Esther is a sophisticated, intelligent, wealthy in her own right, a powerhouse of a woman. I can totally get on board with her unrequited love for Marshall. Although, unlike me, she landed her man! Marshall is amazing! I loved that he was a multi-generational Hawaiian. I liked that he made mistakes, like trying to buy Esther off or undermining her at times. People who have flaws are real. You can't expect, nor should you, perfection in anyone, including yourself. We're human; let's embrace our flaws along with all of our outstanding qualities. Spoiler: I loved that Esther asked Marshall to marry her! And then, he freaked out!! What a riot. The banter back and forth was minimal but enjoyable. They didn't seem to tease each other as much as Stacey & Fischer. But not every couple is the same. Still a cute & fun read!
This was a great continuation of Getaway Bay! Marshall and Esther were adorable and I loved how open they were! I was sad that they had a big problem, but loved how it was fixed!
The wealthy rarely pay attention to those that drive them around. However, they see & hear everything going on as they do so. Esther owns Your Ride, the only car service on the island. She's had a crush on one of her passengers for several years. He's never indicated that he sees her or is interested in her. When he called for a ride on a specific Sunday, he gets in the car & finds a birthday present. It causes him to actually look up & see Esther for the first time.
Marshall inherited the most successful pineapple plantation on the island. He was married once but she tried to take his money & he hasn't trusted women since. Esther was the first woman he was interested in seeing more than once. Until he screws it up. Can he make it right?
The Brawny Billionaire is a sweet romance. Marshall has been hurt by an ex wife only interested in money & it taints his reactions to all women. He needs to learn that he has more to offer a woman than his money. Esther is cautious & afraid to trust him. I like the relationships that form a base in this series. Stacey & Fisher from The Brainy Billionaire, Book 1 of the series, are Esther & Marshall's best friends. This series is about two groups of friends & their relationships. If you are interested in sweet clean romances, check out this series!
A sometimes witty and sometimes sad romance, this book is enjoyable with interesting facts about Hawaii. I guess mistrust by billionaires abound everywhere, as there is always someone wanting to relieve them of their hard earned wealth. Of course, that's not true about every billionaire, especially those who inherited their parents' riches. In this instance though, Marshall has had his fingers badly burnt. But when his quiet and unassuming chauffeur gives him a simple puzzle book for his birthday, he realises that she has been more observant than he thought. After only a few days of making a move towards each other, a large storm hits the island and they are forced to pull together. The romance between them builds slowly and is clean. I loved Esther and her dry wit, and even when Marshall is being his most irritating keeping his distance, she manages to keep her cool, until she can't anymore. However, it's Esther's withdrawal from him that makes Marshall reevaluate his choices. I enjoyed this book and it is clean which makes it suitable for every age group. Although the book is a stand-alone, other characters from the previous book in this series, appear in this one too. The book ends on a happy if unconventional note. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
I liked this one better than the first, but it kind of seemed like the MC's in this one were the same as the MC's in the first one, only with slightly different problems (I'm worried that all the books in the series will start to sound the same like one dog trying to be passed off as a completely different dog because the color of its spots have been changed). For example, the conversation on having children. But maybe it seemed that way because the MC's from this book and the first book were best friends and had spent so much time together that their catch phrases, wants, and needs were the same. But I did like how we got the opposite side of the conversation or situation in this one from the conversations or situations in the first book. It was a fun perspective. I liked that after the initial lack of communication and sharing of honest feelings, the MC's came back together to openly communicate to resolve their issues. The author wove the story so well that it made it feel like the characters really knew each other when, in reality, they had only known each other a short time. She timed dates, conversations, and feelings so well that the relationship didn't feel rushed and unrealistic like the characters didn't have a foundation to build on. The descriptions of Hawaii were great. Felt like I was there. It was clean. No language. No sex.
I didn’t LOVE this as much as the first book in the series. It’s a weird dynamic for Esther to be driving around the guy she’s seeing. I was also expecting to see the change in Marshall’s exterior deteriorate over time showing his love for her but it kind of happened so quick and I’m confused - was it the puzzle book? Did he finally look at her in the eyes after 7 years and ask himself why not try?
I like how it overlapped the proposal of Stacey and Fisher - that we got to see the steps that it took and what not but it wasn’t completely necessary. I would have loved to see Esther and Marshall’s tale stretched out a bit more.
The end of the book definitely got a lot better - the last 3 chapters or so and I like how the heroine was the one that tried to fix the situation instead of Marshall because… it’s always the guy and that’s just so predictable. I loved her non-traditional approach, although it kind of took the spark out of it?
Overall, decent story but I think I may take a break from this series.
I received a free copy and am voluntarily leaving a review
Esther owns a car service company and has been driving Marshall around for almost seven years. She has been crushing on him for at least two years. Marshall has never really notice Esther as anything other than his driver and maybe a friend. When she gives him a birthday present, he looks at her completely different and wonders why he never saw her like that before. After they start dating Marshall runs a complete financial check on her because he thinks that all women are after him for his money. Esther has built her company from the ground up and is worth millions herself. When she finds out that he did this Marshall tries to use his money to win her back. Will he be able to fix this and get her back? Will she get out of her own way and be able to forgive him?
Esther been driving Marshall to and from work for several years, e rich, successful business man, seeing nothing else but work. When she gives him an unusual gift, and that brought quite a change to this business arrangement. Delightful story, of him opening up again to the possibility of a new love, it isn’t quite smooth sailing for the two of them. Which makes this a delightful read, and readers will enjoy. Can be read as a stand-alone also. Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.
Esther has been driving Marshall twice a day for seven years and been crushing on him for the last two. On his birthday, she gives him a gift and it really opens his eyes to her. They start dating and Marshall does something behind her back. Esther finds out and isn’t very happy. Is this the end or can she forgive him? Grab your copy and read this delightful read. I highly recommend all the books in this series. I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the books.
This book is the story of Marshall and Esther. Marshall is a billionaire and Esther owns Your Ride, a car company that drives people to their destinations. Esther always drives Marshall but he never really notices her until she gifts him with a puzzle book. They seem to quickly fall in love but the relationship is severed when Marshall makes a decision without considering how it would affect Esther. Acting without thinking or talking with the person's input causes problems.
Ester has had a crush on the pineapple king for two years. She drives him everywhere all of the time. He's never noticed her. When she gifts him a puzzle book for his birthday, Marshall actually sees her for the first time. Why has he never noticed all the wonderful things she does? How can he possibly trust another female after his terrifying divorce? Better y, how come he can't stop thinking about Ester?
Sometimes the pain and hurt from previous relationships can cause us to mistrust those we really love, and put them at arms length. Our mind and heart can say everything is wrong but our gut instinct says it's OK. That's when we need to listen to our gut instead of our heart. This is what happened with Esther when she found out Marshall had checked into her financials. Made me feel good when they were able to straighten things out. Excellent read.
Sweet story of Esther, a hard working woman who has built her driving services into a thriving business with a steady customer, Marshall a billionaire with deep trust issues. He finally realizes Esther is the one for him. But his insecurities may just push her away. I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing.
It seems this series is going to be about people who have put off dating for a while. Esther and Marshall are both those kind of people, but when Esther finally makes a move, Marshall is ready to take the next step. This was a fun sweet romance and fun to read along with the Brainy Billionaire.
I loved reading Esther and Marshall's story! Esther has had a crush on Marshall for a long time but he’s be burnt before and he cannot see what is right in front of him. Will he finally notice Esther for the great woman she is? I am really enjoying these books and am looking forward to the next one.
Cute and very entertaining romance. She owns and operates a chauffeur business and has been a little in love with one of her riders for the past two years. This year she gives him a puzzle book as a present for his birthday. From here a new budding relationship begins.
Esther own a car service and has been Marshall's driver for years. She has a crush on him. He doesn't know it. Love their interactions throughout this book. He finally realized he likes her and asks her out. The storm hits which help their cause. Love all their friends in this book and the ups and downs they go through. Love the ending.
Marshall the pineapple connoisseur on the island, hires Ester the chauffeur for all his driving needs. He is attracted to her and tries to learn more while a passenger, but soon finds Ester is not as talkative as he would like. Ester is also quite attracted to Marshall but feels he's out of her league. Ester gives a birthday present to him. Will they start a friendship and become lovers?
This was a great read. I enjoyed reading about Esther and Marshall. The characters in the 1st book were also throughout this book. Esther was a smart and intelligent woman who was interested in Marshall. Elana Johnson showed how former relationships could affect a romance and how trust needed to be given. I am looking forward to Book 3.
This novel was okay, not the best that I have read but definitely not the worst. I enjoyed this book for the majority of the storyline but towards the end I felt it was too drawn out. I wish they could have wrapped it up a little sooner, I feel like it would have worked out better.
This a great little summer read, One you can finish while spending an afternoon on the beach. The characters are interesting and engaging. Esther has her own business. She has been Marshal' s driver for several years. Marshal finally takes a good look at Esther when she gives him a birthday present. I love all the beach scenes.
A really sweet read. They both are afraid to take a chance on love but are attracted to each other. There is some angst but is fairly quickly resolved. I like that he is a likable - not a playboy - billionaire.
Esther Pinnett has been driving the man of her dreams around for several years. She’s been in love with him for 2 years and has gone unnoticed by Marshall. On his birthday, she leaves a gift in the back seat of the limo for him to find. This changes everything!
This series has it all: rich, gorgeous men, beautiful independent women, awesome beach setting , fear of being vulnerable and trusting because of previous hurtful relationships, interwoven characters. Keeps me waiting to read the next installment.
Owner & The Car Service Owner fall in love. Esther's company was hired for Marshall by his mother. She's been driving him for 7 years, but the last 2 she has had a crush on him. But he finally realized that she is a pretty woman.
This story is about couples that was billionaires and even money still had problems. They had a lot of problems until they got together. It was a journey that made you emerge yourself in their place . GREAT story.
Another wonderful story set in beautiful Hawaii this time between Marshall and Esther. She's had a crush on him for 2 years and he finally sees her after she gets him a birthday present. It's a sweet story.
