Such sweet story!I'm really surprised at how much fun I had reading this book. I usually try to avoid harlequin books about billionaires, but this is the second time this year I find a 'rare' gem. Hunter is very far from the possessive and selfish womanizer usually depicted in stories like this. He is not a billionaire, he is a prince = romantic and sexy (wink). I'm definitely going to favorite this author...loved her style.

Too. Much. Bad.

First of all, this book started like I should already know who these people are and their entire life story. There was no introduction, it just spit you right into the middle of things and made you rely on context clues and vague references to figure out people and relationships.

I absolutely hate it when books begin this way, but at least most end up eventually giving you the details you need. Not so with this little gem.

Secondly, this heroine is dumber than a bag of rocks. She's supposedly a PR guru for a beauty line, but has no idea what the products are. When one spa in NYC turns her down for an event, she acts like that's the end of her plan and it never crosses her mind that maybe there is more than one damn spa in NYC. No, it takes our charming (???) hero to figure that one out for her.

Thirdly, any time a hero tells the heroine that she needs a makeover for her own good a thousand cherubs cry out in heavan. Seriously, WHY. But yea, she goes along with it, he takes her to Paris like the walking cliche he is, and proceeds to shower her in gifts.

UGH.

No, I didn't finish this travesty. I got to a part where the heroine was being an absolute idiot AGAIN and decided it just wasn't worth it to finish. I know how it's going to end, and it unfortunately won't involve a swift kick in the balls for that ass of a "hero".

And I say again:

UGH.

So, she had a ONE NIGHT STAND with him and wanted it to be that way but he's doesn't. He kinda fell for her hot self and he got to prove he's good in the boardroom and of course, in the bedroom.

Did not like it, I found it incredibly boring and about halfway through started skimming pages. The hero and heroine had no real depth and I did not care for either one at all. Np.

I re-read this as part of my goal to review all of my old reads. This is one of the rare books where I bump up the rating. I just found it enjoyable, and that's basically my criteria for three stars even if the story is a Silhouette or Harlequin romance novel.
I really liked the relationship between Sinclair and Hunter. The chemistry is there throughout. The build up for both the romance and the sex was well written. I think it sets up a solid foundation for their relationship. The ending was dramatic, but like a rom-com dramatic like Harry running through the streets to see Sally in When Harry Met Sally.
I'm also a sucker for a makeover in both movies and books. I felt a bit weird about the reasoning behind it. She did the makeover for the job, but it ends up making her job harder and she didn't really want it for herself. I did appreciate that when Chanel was getting involved in different jobs, no-one mentioned or suspected that she was sleeping with the boss even though she was.

Too short and not very satisfying. Several threads that the author does not follow further and could be interesting. For instance, the rivality with Chantal. This has nothing to do with the love story between h/H, but it would be positive to learn about Chantal failures in front of the h's professional eficiency.

This was written like fanfiction. I finished it... because why not? Also for half the book I thought this was set in the 80's after they described some clothes. I actually looked at the copy right when a reference was made for 00's. And then I realized that is why YOU NEVER EVER describe clothes in details in books.

I got to say the story started out great but it dulled toward the middle and ended okay. An epilogue would have helped but there were so many lose ends. Sinclair and hunter were great but they were missing that something.

The worst book I have read in a while. You are right Megan, like a bad soap. Cheesy lines and bad character development. Sorry author, do not mean to sound harsh, but a waste of my time! Can't believe the high ratings on this book.

To little book and too much Harlequin 😉. At least too much for me.
