Just a sweet story all around with no OW/OM shenanigans and no Great, Big, Terrible Misunderstandings. A commitment-phobe restaurant owner who masks his insecurities with a clownish, prank-playing persona ends up, to his own surprise, being railroaded into a marriage of convenience to a serious-minded girl used to shouldering many responsibilities, including the custody of her soon-to-be orphaned ten year old brother. It isn’t long before these two admit it’s love, not convenience, that drew them together and will keep them forever HEA. Everybody was nice in this one, including the once wicked stepsister who finally redeemed herself after many years of heartache to the heroine.

This is a nice Silhouette by a new-to-me author. This very clearly seems to be the last of a series, but it's not marked as such. In any case, I had no trouble understanding the characters and their connections to each other. Cody (restaurant owner) and Dana (waitress) decide, for a joke, to pretend to be engaged to get his family off his back about marriage. But when she asks him to help her by also posing for her family, things get a lot more serious. I liked the characters and their real problems. They think they know each other, but both have hidden depths. Although it doesn't seem so at first, they fit together well, and I enjoyed watching them figure it out.

Another romance about a marriage for reasons other than love, which the couple are totally denying they feel, and a child who needs someone to take care of him.
Interesting twist: there is a family tree in the front that gives away the ending! Everybody who wonders if things will turn out in the end will be reassured!
