Cain is a mercenary who thinks loving a woman would ruin his concentration on a job. Linette is a woman who has been grieving over her husband’s death. When they first meet both tried to be polite but managed to run away from each other. Yet both are happy upon seeing each other again. This story deals with grief and other issues very well.

A great book.

These were not typical Debbie Macomber books to me. The premise is good and the characters were pretty well developed, but it is a real romance novel with very descriptive events. I am not a romance novel reader and find that while reading some parts I was laughing at the descriptive language. I will be very cautious at the next time I read a book by her.

Different from what Debbie usually writes as there was a lot of adventure in these 2 books. I loved Someday Soon and enjoyed Sooner or Later. Characters were well-developed and realistic.
