Disclaimer: I do work on the website, (so you know who to blame if something doesn't work for you!) but I have spent quite a bit of time lately reading this book, and it definitely deserves a spot on my GoodReads shelf.
This year, I have really enjoyed the opportunity to not only read Joelle's book, but participate in her monthly "book club." It's begun to seem almost vital to my sanity, amidst all the rest I have going on in life at this moment! The book offers a ton of exercises, insight, and examples-- and the website goes even further. I think it is something I can see myself going back to again and again, whenever I need to spend some time aligning the actions I am taking with my values and goals. Dr Jay's book is a fantastic resource for any library. Each chapter contained valuable insights. I now understand better than before why people hire personal consultants to help them break through barriers and achieve goals. If the book is this good I have to assume that Joelle makes a fantastic coach. In addition to being grateful I read the book, I'm also very glad I own it. I see myself picking it up in the future to just re-read specific chapters or find a quote to help inspire me.
If you are a high level executive who feels like you have to choose between success and happiness; this book is for you!
Great, easy read with practical applications for prioritizing projects and tasks. A hefty load of supplemental materials and in-book worksheets to track your own progress while reading through each step. I also enjoyed the example scenarios that I think would seem familiar to many people when reflecting on their busy lives. This is a great read, not just for people in leadership positions, but for anyone who feels overwhelmed by their busy lives.
I agree with most of what this book has to offer. But, it also seemed like common sense with a New Age spin to it. I didn't learn anything new, I just heard simple, common truths put to a different tune.
